On Tuesday’s The View, very anti-Trump Meghan McCain — who, along with her family, has officially endorsed Joe Biden for a 2020 takeover — dared the Dems to go ahead with impeachment.
Talk of the “I” word has surged recently, but it’s a song that seems to have been playing from the very beginning on Trump’s presidency. They may have turned down the volume at times, but that record’s broken.
Can somebody just unplug the thing?
Even the news has been trying to oust the guy — in July of 2018, I wrote the article “CNN Asks: Are We (Finally) Ready For Impeachment?”
Part of me believes they’ll still be looking to the process long after Trump’s tenure. Perhaps in 2027, President Stormy Daniels will retroactively find a way.
But as for the efforts of the moment, Meghan offered a warning.
She ain’t thinkin’ it’ll go well:
“I will say, [co-host Sunny Hostin] has been a proponent throughout the entire time we’ve been talking about it on the show of impeachment. I will say — okay, let me finish. Unleash the kraken! If you’re not going to listen to Nancy Pelosi about the political implications of this, just impeach him then, and see what happens politically.”
Some believe the 1998 impeachment of Bill Clinton hurt the Republicans more than the Commander-in-Chief, and Meghan can easily see history repeating itself:
“What happened with Clinton in the ‘90s ended up hurting Republicans and I think historians said it too. Just impeach him, then. Because quite frankly, I’m sick of hearing everybody b*tch about it.”
Yep. She’s a woman sick of it (piece of advice: Never mess with a woman who’s sick of it):
“I’m sick of hearing the infighting with Democrats, clearly progressives are running the party.Again, if he has, in fact, as Abby said, extorted —”
Joy interrupted. She assured the Dems are cool, Daddy-O:
“Don’t worry about the Democrats. The Democrats are going to get it together.”
“Are you sure about that?” McCain returned.
“On election night, I want that clip right up here.”
