Beto Can't Abandon His Pursuit of 2020, Because Anything Less Wouldn't be 'Good Enough' for You. Just Ask Him

Some have called for Beto O’Rourke to drop out of the presidential race.

That may not be a bad idea, given the following cocktail of caca:

But wait — there’s more: They’re calling him back to Texas, to shoot for becoming a big-time congressman.

As previously covered by RedState writer Brandon Morse, The Houston Chronicle serenaded the skateboarder:

Beto, if you’re listening: Come home. Drop out of the race for president and come back to Texas to run for senator. The chances of you winning the race you’re in now are vanishingly small. And Texas needs you.

Beto responded to the cry for help during a campaign speech in El Paso Thursday:

“There’s some part of me — and it’s a big part of me — that wants to stay here and be with my family, and be with my community. I love El Paso. There have even been some who suggested that I stay in Texas and run for Senate.”

However, the poet who once asked readers to “wax [his] a**” and “scrub [his] b*lls” has a significant reason to say No:

“[T]hat would not be good enough for this community. That would not be good enough for El Paso. That would not be good enough for this country.”

Therefore, we deduce, the only thing that’s “good enough” for all of us is Beto O’Rourke — the guy who recently took a punishingly goofy video of himself supposedly changing a tire (here) — leading the nation.

It seems there’s a disagreement between Beto and people who aren’t Beto on just how good “good enough” has to be.

As per The Daily Wire:

Despite consistently polling below 3%, the former Texas lawmaker rejected all calls to end his campaign and instead recast himself a warrior against President Donald Trump.

Do you happen to be in the mood to read something really dumb? Just in case you are, he also said this:

“We must take the fight directly to the source of this problem, that person, who has caused this pain and placed this country in this moment of peril. And that is Donald Trump.”

Let’s go deeper:

“I want to be the leader for this country that we need right now and that we do not have. Someone who will only not tear us apart, but do everything within their power to bring us together.”

Dear Beto:

When you say things castigating half the country by way of attacking the president they support, you can’t reasonably also claim to be someone who brings us together — that’d be because “us” includes ALL OF US, doofus.

He’s not likely to take the White House in 2020. But could he take Capitol Hill?

Would that be good enough for you?
