According to Fox News, James Bond will pass the torch to another 007 agent in the next, 25th installment.
Purportedly, the next Agent 007 will be played by 31-year-old British actress Lashana Lynch.
Lashana appeared as the best friend to the main character in recent superhero effort Captain Marvel.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Bond 25 writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge puts the actress front and center:
“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” a Bond insider claimed. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”
And she don’t need no man:
“Bond, of course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don’t work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed. Well, certainly not at the beginning.”
British actress Lashana Lynch will reportedly become the next 007, the first woman ever to take on the debonair secret agent’s codename. https://t.co/LCiya8trI1

Furthermore, the franchise’s marketing is getting awokened.
As per Fox:
The insider also claimed that the phrase “Bond girls” is now verboten: The females in the spy franchise are now reportedly ordered to be called “Bond women.”
Writer Phoebe explains that Bond can no longer be Bond as the world has known him:
“There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Bond is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women. I think that’s bullsh**. I think he’s absolutely relevant now. [The franchise] has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to his character.”
One thing that won’t be changing: The great Christoph Waltz will return as the villainous Blofeld.
What are your thoughts on the trajectory of the franchise? Will you be going to see the new movie?
Let us all know.
Also, what are your favorite Bond films? Your favorite Bond(s)?
When Daniel was first announced as the new spy, I thought he was all wrong. But 30 seconds into his maiden voyage, I was sold. That being said, in my view, Casino Royale lacked action. I’ve enjoyed all the films since.
I believe Pierce Brosnan was the perfect man for the job during his era, though for some reason, Goldeneye looks far more dated than it should.
And Sean Connery was great.
Whatcha think?
I look forward to hearing from you.
