Billy Joel is faaantastic. The guy knows how to write a compelling song, and the diversity of his catalogue is incredible — from “Piano Man” to “We Didn’t Start the Fire” to “Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)” to “Big Man on Mulberry Street” to “The Longest Time,” his mastery of genre knows no superior.

Bill and Hillary Clinton know how to run the gamut, too. The power couple have made headlines over the years for so many different things: scandals, two presidential terms, affairs, Bengazi, the governorship, impeachment, a controversial multi-billion-dollar foundation, and an absolutely jaw-dropping amount of expressed bitterness over the 2016 election (here, here, here, here, here, and here).

Some of those haven’t elicited the same kind of love stirred by, say, “Tell Her About It.”

Therefore, when the duo attended the Piano Man’s Madison Square Garden show Thursday — as reported by Fox News — some folks erected a wall of boos. 

And that would be in New York — the very state for which Hillary served as senator.

As noted by The Daily Wire, the Clintons have seen a fair amount of public dissent as of late: They slashed their book tour prices to as low as $10 in May, and the Broadway extravaganza about the couple — starring John Lithgow and Laurie Metcalf, no less — was forced to close early due to poor sales.

Bill’s connection to alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein probably isn’t boosting their Q. But a recent statement insisted the former president’s An Innocent Man.

Whatever the reason, the Washington icons didn’t gel with this week’s New York State of Mind:

After the Long Island-born legend dedicated a song to the former first couple and flashed them up on the screen at Madison Square Garden, initial cheers turned to boos from the audience.
