You’ve heard of the Green New Deal; how about the Brown one? Because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s anti-plane, anti-20th-century, cowfart-fighting manifesto should be locatable on San Francisco’s Poop Map (here).
And what’s the point of it? Well, despite its Green nomenclature — which would suggest it’s rooted in environmentalism — the scheme is really all about socialism. There’s a reason they were called the Brown Shirts.
#Crap
In a recent Washington Post interview, AOC’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, admitted the Nazis’ favorite economic system was the point to what Ben Shapiro called “one of the stupidest documents ever written” (here).
According to the Post, the fess-up came during a conversation between Saikat and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts:
Chakrabarti had an unexpected disclosure. “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal,” he said, “is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.” Ricketts greeted this startling notion with an attentive poker face. “Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Chakrabarti continued. “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”
Well, retrofitting all existing buildings and taking long-distance travel back to the days of The Lone Ranger would certainly have an economic effect.
It’s not an entirely new revelation; as pointed out by The Daily Wire, U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom J. Donohue wrote the following in February:
Climate change is real and deserves our attention. But not every policy to address it can be taken seriously. Take, for example, the Green New Deal – a sweeping proposal to “save our planet” that reads more like a parody of the progressive agenda. No laughing matter, however, is the proposal’s ultimate objective: to give government unprecedented power over people’s lives and our entire economy.
…Other aspects of the Green New Deal seem wildly out of place for an environmental resolution. Consider the promise of massive new entitlement programs that could only be achieved through a radical redistribution of wealth. Here, the proposal shows its true colors. This is not some run-of-the-mill progressive policy – it is a Trojan Horse for socialism.
The Green New Deal aims to upend our entire economic system, wresting consumer choice from everyday Americans and putting personal decisions – from the food we eat to the cars we drive – in the hands of an unelected elite.
Right. Socialism is an economic system wherein all products and means of production are owned by the government.
In other words, in Alexandria’s ultimate paradise, all things are owned by…Alexandria.
How could anyone who understands the definition of the word, then, want her anywhere near a government building or legislation anywhere near socialism?
Is ignorance the new driving force of American democracy?
Either way, the cat’s out of the bag, and from the horse’s mouth. Or, at least, the horse’s chief of staff:
Socialism is the goal of the Green New Deal, and — in case you haven’t read it on a bathroom wall — Socialism Suxx.
