How many delights have you had in your life?

I’ve had at least one, and it involved an island paradise.

Bernie Sanders wants you to have another one, and he knows just the kind you’re jonesin’ for: the obligation under threat of imprisonment to let the federal government take more of your money.

OOOH! Don’t mind if you DO…

Speaking to CNN Wednesday night, your rich Uncle Bernie claimed “a lot of people” would love to have more of their hard-earned dough get confiscated in exchange for the feds doling out government-run healthcare.

What could go wrong? The government is great at efficiency. And monopolies always result in the best quality. Just Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (here) and a bunch of millennials (here) — they (like Bernie) want socialism, which makes Uncle Sam the only game in town in the arena of products and means of production

RRRRrico Suave!!

Feel the Bern:

“[I] suspect that a lot of people in the country would be delighted to pay more in taxes if they had comprehensive health care as a human right. I live 50 miles away from the Canadian border. You go to the doctor any time you want. You don’t take out your wallet. You have heart surgery, you have a heart transplant and you come out of the hospital and it costs you nothing.”

Sounds pretty doggone good.

How about free college? Bernie’s ready to give it to you. As soon as, of course, you give him a ton more of your money. But, you know..it’s FREE:

“Your kids in many countries around the world can go to the public colleges and universities tuition-free, wages in many cases are higher. So there is a trade-off, but at the end of the day, I think, that most people will believe they will be better off when their kids have educational opportunities without out-of-pocket expenses. And when they have health care as a human right and they have affordable housing, when they have decent retirement security, I think most Americans will understand that is a good deal.”

Well, the devil — as they say — is in the details.

I think we might wanna look more into that whole “trade-off” thing he mentioned.

And:

Dear Uncle Bernie,

You say we have to pay for your free stuff through our taxes. And that there’s no “out-of-pocket expenses.”

Our taxes come out of our pockets.

I don’t think I’m on board with the delight of giving Bernie additional cash.

Personally, I’d rather keep more of my money and spend it to go back to that island. It was delightful.
