Bill Maher Smacks the Democrats on 2020: If You Make the Election About This, You'll Get Creamed

Every now and then, Bill Maher gets it so right that I wish those on the Right would watch and learn.

The outspoken political pundit is just as loud when he’s socking it to the Left as when he’s lambasting the Right. And in those moments of speaking to his people, the volume is fantastic.

On Friday, the HBO mainstay warned Democrats: If they wanna waste their energy, go for open borders. And if they wanna get the stew beaten out of them in 2020, then press the “woke” thing:

“If it becomes a ‘woke’ contest, then the Democrats lose on this.”

At a point, Wendy Sherman — State Department staffer under Obama — blamed the “immigration crisis” on Trump, due to his cutting of aid to Central America. Bill hit back:

“This is what Democrats say, which only gets other Democrats. This is not the speech that is going to win any [swing] voters. You’ve [already] got the compassion vote.”

In my opinion, Bill is always at his best — and his most conservative — when he’s trying to beat conservatives. It’s in those moments of realism that he says, “If we want to win, we can’t act like morons.”

Indeed.

For more of Bill’s better nature, check out my coverage of him trying to explain the concept of free speech to millennials (here).

Or take a look at T. LaDuke’s “Bill Maher Mocks The Democratic Party And Tells Them To ‘Grow A Pair.’

Bill Maher may not be an icon of conservative thought, but when he gets it right, he gets it really right. He isn’t woke; but sometimes, he’s more awake than most.
