George Clooney Calls for Boycott of Anti-Gay Sultan's Elite Hotels; Bill Maher Calls Him 'Chickensh*t'

On Friday, liberal Bill Maher called liberal George Clooney “chickensh**” over his renewed stance against some Hollywood hotels.

The Sultan of Brunei — 72-year-old Hassanal Bolkia — owns hotels in Hollywood, including the iconic Beverly Hills hotel as well as Hotel Bel-Air.

BUT — and, might I add, given that I live in the LA area, somewhat ironically — in Brunei, homosexuality is punishable by death.

You know, we’re talking Sharia law — that thing Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour loves (here).

So the Oceans 11 star says you shouldn’t stay at any of those hotels.

When Charleton Heston was diagnosed with Alzheimers, George said something to the effect of, “He’s the president of the NRA. He deserves what he gets.”

Applying George’s principle, does he think anyone who supports the 2nd Amendment should boycott his movies?

Whatever the case, George spoke out against the swanky joints in an article written Deadline:

“Every single time we stay at or take meetings at or dine at any of these nine hotels, we are putting money directly into the pockets of men who choose to stone and whip to death their own citizens for being gay or accused of adultery.”

The owner of Hollywood hotels runs a country where adultery is punishable by death? Yeah, those are definitely strange bedfellows.

Maher guest CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp called hypocrisy on the part of Clooney, noting that Tinseltown does a “ton of business” with anti-gay Arab nations.

Bill conceded that George may be a “really smart guy,” but he insisted the actor’s “virtue “signaling” changes nothing.

The way you fight legislated Islam, Bill contended, is liberalism:

“It’s Sharia Law, which is some version of the law in most Muslim-majority countries. And if you want to be against that, you know, speak openly and honestly about standing up for liberal principles.”

Maher added this hilarious quip:

“This idea that the Sultan of Brunei is going over the receipts from the Polo Lounge…‘Oh no, we only sold two soups today,’”

If Bill’s to take George seriously, he wants to see something more:

“It’s chickensh** tokenism. What about Saudi Arabia? If you really want to get back to them, stop driving, don’t use oil.”

Stop driving? How else would people make it to the Beverly Hills hotel? I guess they could take an Uber by way of electric car. They’d definitely wanna get there somehow; I hear it’s the location of choice for gay adultery.
