Monica Lewinsky Has Just Three Words for the Handling of the Mueller Report

Everybody’s sounding off about the biggest story in the news: Robert Mueller’s collusionless report (here, here, here, here, here, and here).

Well, what’s the opinion of someone who, two decades ago, herself walked the earth as the media’s singular focus?

On Wednesday, Monica Lewinsky weighed in on Mueller Mania.

And why? Because, unlike the Trump-Russia document at this point, special counsel Ken Starr’s report was published in full. For the whole world.

Monica was at centerstage for Starr’s 453-page Book of Bill Clinton. And it didn’t just cover her and Slick Willy playin’ checkers. Sexy time was recounted in grand detail.

All we have from Mueller so far is a 4-page synopsis from Attorney General Bill Barr.

On social media Tuesday, Professor Orin Kerr of USC’s Gould School of Law tossed up a resonating proposal:

“Imagine if the Starr Report had been provided only to President Clinton’s Attorney General, Janet Reno, who then read it privately and published a 4-page letter based on her private reading stating her conclusion that President Clinton committed no crimes.”

Monica couldn’t hold back:

Take a ganders at some of the responses (in which the captions of the original tweet are not censored — I apologize for the vulgarity):

Last but not least, I give you my favorite meme of all time (almost tied with The Donald’s “Wrong”):

I don’t think there’s any way to imagine what life was like for 25-year-old Monica in the late 90’s. It must’ve been hell. She was clearly partly to blame; but she wasn’t granted any mercy, certainly not that of a short, simple report summary. I’m glad she — and the nation — made it through. We’ve now survived another rough episode in America’s history — two years of the media’s insanely biased obsession with a conspiracy involving the outlier who became #NotTheirPresident.

But he is. And thanks to the report’s conclusion, there’s no signs of him stopping.

The Democrats and the media would do well to simply accept that.

If flippin’ only.
