Defying the Left's Caricature of the Right, Donald Trump Jr. Comes to the Defense of Chelsea Clinton

Every now and then, a story is just plain confusing. I thought the Trumps were partisan, divisive, and evil; yet here we are…

In the aftermath of the mosque attacks in New Zealand, Chelsea Clinton was blamed for the atrocity by NYU students.

As covered by RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar, at a New York University vigil for the victims of the Christchurch massacre (see my article on the 50-count mass murder here), Chelsea was accosted and accused of inciting Islamophobia.

The reason? On February 10th, the former first daughter tweeted against anti-Semitism in the wake of Ilhan Omar’s comments about Jews. Among other things, the Minnesota representative had suggested American Jews hold “dual loyalty” (see much more about Omar here, here, and here).

The tweet:

“Co-signed as an American. We should expect all elected officials, regardless of party, and all public figures to not traffic in anti-Semitism.”

Fast-forward to Friday night, when some students told Clinton she wasn’t welcomed.

Who would come to Chelsea’s defense? In addition to many others, lo, I give you the son of Satan, Donald Trump Jr.:

“It’s sickening to see people blame @ChelseaClinton for the NZ attacks because she spoke out against anti-Semitism. We should all be condemning anti-Semitism & all forms of hate. Chelsea should be praised for speaking up. Anyone who doesn’t understand this is part of the problem.”

Good for Don Jr. And for Chelsea.

Despite constant assertions from the Left, many on the Right are motivated by principle, not partisanship. They’re happy to see good triumph over evil, and they’re at the ready to fight for it, regardless of party affiliation (like here).

Nonetheless, we’re sure to see more of this, because dumbness:
