Bulldog Covington Attorney May Sue Bill Maher and HBO

Bill Maher is an interesting mix. On one hand, he’s neck-deep in Democratic politics. Yet, every now and then, the friend of Ann Coulter slings a fastball dead-center into the strike zone of conservative principles. Like here.

With all due respect to Bill, this isn’t about one of those pitches.

On Wednesday, I wrote about Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann’s lawsuit against The Washington Post (here). Given the extreme impact of hasty, politically-motivated media on the adolescent, attorney Todd McMurty explained that $250 million in damages is being sought to teach the Post a lesson (see some of the incredible brunt here, here, here, and here).

Continuing a legal full-court press, on Wednesday night, bulldog Sandmann lawyer Lin Wood (here) told Sean Hannity that Bill Maher may soon be served with papers.

What did Maher do? Well, on his January 27th international broadcast, he referred to 16-year-old Nicholas as “a little prick.”

At 16, in my opinion, wrongly-accused Nick’s biggest problem should be a perturbed girlfriend, a dirty car, or a zit.

Lin spelled it out to Sean:

“Well, certainly CNN and Bill Maher did things that we consider to have crossed the line. We think the statements they made are defamatory. They’re not humorous. So certainly, Bill Maher is somebody that we’re looking at very carefully, and HBO, for allowing him to make those defamatory statements.”

Here’s Bill’s full quote:

“I don’t blame the kid, the smirk-face kid. I blame lead poisoning and bad parenting. And, oh yeah, I blame the f***ing kid. What a little prick. Smirk face — smirk face says…please…like that’s not a d**k move at any age, to stick your face in this elderly man. You know, I don’t spend a lot of time — I must tell you — around Catholic school children, but I do not get what Catholic priests see in these kids.”

For a loooong list of people Nicholas’s attorneys have put on notice, please go here. It’s gonna get interesting, folks.
