Stacy Abrams lost.
The governor race.
In Georgia.
That would be, after making it clear — despite her refusal to say so, and not for Jake Tapper’s lack of trying — she was eyeing gun confiscation (here and here).
Then post-bomb, she couldn’t stop saying her defeat was unfair.
Whether she was right or not, the reality is that “bitter” isn’t a good look for anyone (case in point: Hillary Clinton — here and here).
But she’s still going.
As for her latest post-skunk squawk, Stacey spoke at the DNC’s D.C. winter conference Friday with the grace of a…well, actually…without any grace:
“Here’s the thing about voter suppression: Voter suppression is legal in the United States right now. We’re used to fighting against enemies that are supposed to be unlawful, but the problem with a lot of what they do is they take legal actions and bastardize them and manipulate them until the rights they are supposed to protect are no longer visible.”
Ooookay.
As a reminder, Brian Kemp bested Stacey in November by 54,700 votes. She claims blacks and Democrats were kept from voting (here, here, and here).
Once, again: Not A Good Look.
She did, however, offer evidence during her speech.
#GoodGoin’
But she only cited four people who said they had to wait in line a long time:

#NotQuiteEnoughEvidence
#FAIL
Take it away, Stace:
“What we do know is that in the state of Georgia, four black men and women stood in line for four hours to cast a vote. That’s a poll tax. When you have to sacrifice four hours of work on the off-chance that you make it through and get to cast a ballot, that’s a poll tax.”
For those who need it:
poll tax = After [voting rights were] extended to all races by the Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution, many Southern states enacted poll taxes as a means of excluding African-American voters, most of whom were dirt poor and unable to pay a tax. So as not to disenfranchise the many poor whites, such laws typically included a grandfather clause, exempting from the tax any adult male whose father or grandfather had voted. The effect was to exempt whites from the tax blacks had to pay, because no black fathers or grandfathers had been able to vote.
Abrams’s newly-formed group, Fair Fight Action, is currently suing the state of Georgia over its election system.
Stacey comes across as a likable lady; it just seems like she could use a friend to pull her aside and tell her the same thing Hillary Clinton is in desperate, Code Red need of hearing:
“You lost. You LOST. YOU LOST. YOU. LOST. Now make like Disney’s Elsa, and Let it Go.”
