On Saturday, Donald Trump, Jr. slammed an Empire actor’s holey claim of MAGA attack.

I’m sure you know the general background, but just in case: Jussie Smollett claimed he was bum-rushed by two masked men shouting anti-gay and racial slurs, claiming, “This is MAGA country!”

Many on the Left — as is their wont — immediately believed Jussie and proclaimed the horrific assault the end of anecdotal irrelevance: “From now on, this one situation proves all other situations! #EvilGOPSuxx”

There. A recap.

But now, an interesting turn.

As stated by Fox News:

Police earlier said that the “trajectory of the investigation” shifted and that they wanted to conduct another interview with Smollett about the alleged hate crime last month. Police released two Nigerian brothers who were held for questioning about the reported attack. They were released late Friday without charges.

“We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by police earlier in the “Empire” case has in fact shifted the trajectory of the investigation,” Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement. “We’ve reached out to the Empire cast member’s attorney to request a follow-up interview.”

Two brothers told Chicago police investigators that they were paid by Empire actor Jussie Smollett to stage an attack on him, according to a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly.

Some followers of the story had smelled fish from the beginning, and Trump Jr. was apparently sniffing his share of snapper.

Hence, a tweet dropping the bomb on Jussie over a MAGA-menace hoax:

Shocked, I really thought MAGA folks (who are all over downtown Chicago) were waiting with a rope/bottle of bleach to ambush a righ guy at 2am in minus 4 degrees because those are conditions where all people go out for Subway rather than order Seamless.
