On Monday, I gave you “the best thing you’ll see all week.” Well, now here’s the funniest thing you’ll hear all week.
You’re gonna love this…
The Left seems obsessed with race. Obsessed. To quote myself: They’re bent on separating people by the color of their skin and other meaningless qualities (here, here, here, here, here, and here, and a whole lotta other places, too).
And as of late, they’ve come up with a whole new race of people: “people of color.” Which is to say, anyone who isn’t white. The side of the political aisle that perpetually accuses Trump of being divisive has split all of human existence with a hard line based on the notion of a harsh life of oppressed struggle and an Easy Street-skippin’ free-for-all.
One of those believers — CNN legal analyst Areva Martin — made a Tuesday morning appearance on Fox Nation host David Webb’s Sirius XM radio show, during which the two discussed hiring qualifications in the media workplace.
Level-headed-sounding David said he preferred actual merit, as opposed to racial considerations:
“Shouldn’t their…primary requirement — regardless of ethnicity, regardless of network — be that they are capable of covering politics? For instance, if you’re going to cover political campaigns, sports may not be the most qualified background. And that brings to the point of, if people want to get into these fields, regardless of color — I’ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I’m qualified to be in each one. I never considered my color the issue; I considered my qualifications the issue.”
Cue the racial divide, courtesy of CNN’s Areva:
“Well, David, that’s a whole ‘nother long conversation about white privilege, things that you have the privilege of doing that people of color don’t have the privilege of.”
“How do I have the privilege of white privilege?”
“David, by virtue of being a white male, you have white privilege. [That’s a] whole, long conversation — I don’t have time to get into it.”
What came next is hilarious, and I don’t want to lessen it for you by putting it in print. It’s best that you listen for yourself.
But DANG IT…the YouTube video below’s image may give it away. Nonetheless, enjoy. It’s FANTASTIC!!!!
And enjoy the Eddie Murphy video, as well: In the 80’s, it was well-taken as an absurd joke. Now, it’s the reality of the Democratic platform. Ladies and gentleman, this is the Left.
And, as for Areva Martin — to conjure the great James Earle Jones — “This is CNN.”
