According to Democratic strategist James Carville, on Tuesday, Chuck Schumer put the butt in rebuttal.
After President Trump’s Oval Office immigration address, the senate minority leader and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi teamed up to respond.
Like goobers.

Pelosi said Trump has chosen fear.
She also championed being “smart” and “effective,” while continuing her hardline to the contrary.
She accused the President of maneuvering against veterans.
The 70-year-old politician also espoused border measures that “[honor] our values.”
Apropos: Just days ago, Pelosi called the notion of a border wall “an immorality” (here).
What a dork.
Chuck Schumer chimed in, explaining, “We don’t govern by temper tantrum.”
Oh boy…
Chuck looked like Frankenstein, and I believe I could hear the clacky sound of deadpan Nancy’s dentures.
Anyway, host Brian Williams welcomed James Carville to MSNBC’s The 11th Hour to give his two cents on the Schumer/Pelosi extravaganza.
Williams wondered:
“Tell me why responses are so bad. Tonight, this Chuck and Nancy visual tonight launched 1,000 memes while they were still talking. There was an American Gothic meme. There was ‘Your mother and I are very upset you stayed out so late’ meme.”
Carville acknowledged a substantial lack of conviction on the part of the two operatives who are currently refusing to support the idea of a nation with borders — in order to be anti-Trump — even though they both voted for the Fence Act of 2006 (here, and presumably also an “immorality”).
Carville made a surprising reference:
“[Schumer] didn’t want to be there. I’ve been more excited about colonoscopies than he was, giving the speech tonight. He didn’t want to be there.”
Well.
That’s a clear commentary on Schumer’s demeanor.
Or perhaps it’s moreso an indication that the medical establishment should go to greater lengths to make colonoscopies festive. Maybe incorporate a mariachi band. Or how about a Star Wars theme — the technician is gonna launch a proton torpedo into your thermal exhaust port in order to destroy the Empire and save the galaxy.
James said the joint statement didn’t matter. At all:
“I just don’t think…The only good thing about it — it didn’t matter. They could have given The Gettysburg Address and it wouldn’t matter.”
Former RNC Chair Michael Steele — also a guest on the show — affirmed:
“Dems, don’t do that again. You know, you don’t — I don’t know what they were trying to accomplish here. Certainly, the message was lost in the visual, but Jim is right, I mean, didn’t really matter in the end because nobody wanted to be doing what they were doing tonight.”
Watch the Nancy&Chuck flatliner below. It’s a real hoot.
And if you find yourself headed for a colonoscopy: May the Force Be With You.
