This is Part One of my New Years Eve Trilogy of Trump statements about the wall.

At 7:37 this morning, the President sent a message to congressional Democrats.

Trump is a man of business; he’s up with the chickens and ready to get things done.

America elected a relentless businessman who reminds us that the virtue of a robust ego is pride in one’s accomplishments, which is to say, pride in accomplishing. Donald Trump does not like to lose; he does not vie for failure. For all his opulence, the man is a workhorse. There’s a blue collar sense of effort, powering a man who sits on a gold toilet.

And that prideful man promised the nation protection. A secure border. The same thing touted by Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama (here, here, and here).

And at 7:37 a.m., the Commander-in-Chief sent a message to snoozing, losing Democrats: Come back to work. Fund border security.

“I’m in the Oval Office. Democrats, come back from vacation now and give us the votes necessary for Border Security, including the Wall. You voted yes in 2006 and 2013. One more yes, but with me in office, I’ll get it built, and Fast!”

This is the man America elected. His slogan, “Make America Great Again,” was, it would seem, very calculated. “Make.” Or, “build.” It’s what a real estate mogul does. A constructor of an empire. He sees a need. He builds a solution. He’s at the office. He’s ready to go.

“Democrats, let’s get to work.”
