Christmas Market Islamic Terrorist Shot Dead

Yesterday, I wrote of the horrific terror of Strasbourg, France’s Christmas market mass shooting which left three dead. At the time, authorities were looking for suspect Cherif Chekatt.

Well, big news: 29-year-old Chekatt is dead.

This, according to police.

The country’s Interior Minister Christophe Castaner released details of the pursuit’s unfolding on Twitter. Apparently, at around 9 p.m., an individual bearing resemblance to the murder suspect was spotted on Rue du Lazaret. Upon being called on by cops, the man turned around and shot.

Of course, such a situation usually ends one specific way. And this was no exception.

For those of you who speak French, knock yourself out:

In addition to his gun, police found a knife on Chekatt.

As reported by Fox, the National Police of the North tweeted a Thank You to the public for information which helped “find the wanted individual.”

As I wrote yesterday, during Tuesday’s shooting, Checkatt reportedly yelled “Allahu Akbar!”

Please read more details of the crime in my article covering its initial report.

Interior Ministry representative Laurent Nunez explained that Chekatt was radicalized while in prison. Subsequently, he had been considered someone to watch due to Islamic extremism, flagged with the country’s notorious “fiche S.”

Now he’s flagged and toe-tagged. And justice — to the degree that it could be accomplished in light of three innocent lives lost — has been served.
