Poll: Millennials Think Obama was More Important Than George Washington

According to a poll by the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness (FLAG), millennials…well, you read the headline — they’re doofuses (like here, here, and here).

As reported by the survey, nearly half believe the country isn’t “the greatest country in the world.”

That isn’t great.

About 20% view the American flag as “a sign of intolerance and hatred.”

I want to say that again, but instead, I’ll say this: The 20% figure doesn’t just happen. A great mass of people don’t grow up in a Western country and, by college, naturally hold that view. Surely there’s no better indication of the Left’s influence over America’s youth via (mis)education and media. Small things that may not seem so impactful work together to form a giant mess of idiocy. And then here we are.

The poll of 1,078 citizens under the age of 38 was taken by YouGov.com. One of its discoveries is that 44% of goobs…I mean, millennials…agree that Barack Obama had a “bigger impact” on the nation than George dadgum Washington.

How in the world could they rationally believe that? The most recent Democratic president vs. the Father of Our Country?

Upon the report’s release, FLAG founder Nick Adams had this to say:

“We suspected that we would find decreasing numbers of Americans well-versed in our nation’s most important principles and young people less patriotic than the generations that came before, but we were totally unprepared for what our national survey reveals: an epidemic of anti-Americanism. … That half of millennials and Gen Z believe that the country in which they live is both ‘racist’ and ‘sexist’ shows that we have a major fraction of an entire generation that has been indoctrinated by teachers starting in grade school that America is what’s wrong with the world.”

A country, like a marriage, cannot hope to survive when its participants don’t believe in its greatness.

We have a lot of work to do.

A lot.
