Over the weekend, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi explained her economic policies would result in “collateral damage” for certain groups.
Before we go forward, I should point out that Nancy Pelosi is insane:
During the enactment of GOP-led tax reform, Pelosi claimed the program would mean “Armageddon” for the country (see here).
Yet suddenly, “collateral damage” is just the breaks?
I should also remind everyone that she’s dreadfully disconnected from the populace. When some Americans received as much as $3,000 due to the reform, the 30x millionaire explained that the amount was “pathetic crumbs” and, therefore, meaningless to normal people.
Okay. So insane and completely clueless. Now let’s continue:
During an onstage conversation Sunday with liberal New York Times writer Paul Krugman on climate change, employment, and economic prosperity, Nancy stated that left-wing policies would mean “collateral damage for some others who do not share our view.” But it’s no problemo — it’ll be better for America.
So there ya go. If you disagree with her, things are gonna stink for you. But the real America’ll be rockin’.
“We owe the American people to be there for them, for their financial security, respecting the dignity and worth of every person in our country, and if there is some collateral damage for some others who do not share our view, well, so be it, but it shouldn’t be our original purpose.”
Well, at least it’s not her original intention.
Who are these weirdos who don’t share her view? She didn’t say (but I’m guessing you).
And what’s she planning on doing? You may recall Obama being criticized for picking winners (and, therefore, losers) by placing governmental bets on “clean” energy that stunk up the joint. So maybe more of the same?
Pelosi enjoys her position of power as leader of the Democratic Caucus — if the Left takes the House, she’ll be Speaker. But a growing number of new-blood Dems want her gone (see here). Personally, I say let the youth lead the way.
As an elucidation of the issues close to Nancy’s heart, she had this to say during the 92nd Street Y interview:
“We have to have total clarity about what we do, when it comes to everything — a woman’s right to choose, gay marriage…whether it’s about immigration, whether it’s about gun safety, whether it’s about climate…”
Personally, my first thought is, “What do those things — or, rather, what should those things — have to do with the federal government?” Where should those topics sit in the hierarchy of pressing need (excepting abortion and immigration as a general issue)? I think it’s a fair question, although I’m sure it won’t be asked. I think I just joined the ranks of those who don’t share her view.
If I sweat bullets over Nancy’s collaterally-damaging plans, it’s okay — I’m wearing a wet suit. I got my Sex Wax, my board, and in a matter of weeks, I’m hoping to surf a red wave. And wave “Goodbye” to Speaker Pelosi. And the damage she would’ve caused.
