She’s salty, and Maxine Waters doesn’t mind acting like a nut. For a fantastic example, please see my previous article here.
For another great view into the Californian’s congressional craziness, look no further than her acceptance speech before the Stonewall Young Democrats in LA Saturday.
Maxine referenced some of her deplorable, despicable, self-centered, intolerant, alienating, divisive and disrespectful rhetoric from June:
“There are those that said we lacked civility when I got up and talked about the President’s cabinet and I said, ‘If you see ’em anywhere (audience laughs), if you see ’em at a restaurant, if you see ’em in a department store, even at a gasoline station, just tell ’em, “You’re not welcome here or anywhere.”‘”
The deplorable, despicable, self-centered, intolerant, alienating, divisive and disrespectful crowd cheered.
“And so, it frightened a lot of people. And, of course, the lying President said that I had threatened all of his constituents.”
Okay…
“I did not threaten his constituents, his supporters. I do that all the time, but I didn’t do it that time.”
Nice.
The group yukked it up. Then Waters told everyone of her nighttime, spooky obsession:
“I wake up in the middle of the night, and all I can think about is, ‘I’m gonna get him. I’m gonna get him. I’m gonna get him.'”
I just turned on an extra light.
Maxine then let everyone know that the President of the United States is wrongfully positioned as such:
“This deplorable, despicable human being that occupies the White House should not be there.”
I reference my third paragraph.
“We should not be comfortable with it. … This is our fight. And every day, I say, ‘I’m in this fight, and I’m not gonna move.'”
The 80-year-old representative then conjured the “I” word:
“As you know, there’s a difference in how some of our leadership talk about how we should handle all of this. They say, ‘Maxine, please don’t say “impeachment” anymore.'”
Get ready…
“And when they say that, I say, ‘Impeachment. Impeachment. Impeachment. Impeachment. Impeachment. Impeachment. Impeachment.'”
Hearing her chant feels like I’m listening to someone say “Candyman” in the mirror five times.
The crowd went wild. Woohoo!!!!
Waters proceeded to list…well…see for yourself:
“One of the reasons we must talk about what to do with someone
- who disrespects the Constitution
- who disrespects human beings, period
- who’s self-centered
- who does not care about the Constitution
- who’s alienated our allies
- who’s tied to Putin
- who won’t condemn him
- in bed with the oligarchs of Russia
- and is responsible for the kind of division…that we thought we had cured a long time ago…”
Now I really reference my third paragraph.
Maxine went on to explain that democracy can’t be tolerated:
“You’ve got to help people understand that we do not need — or have to tolerate — this. If you cannot talk impeachment, given what we have learned of him, and the way he defines himself, then impeachment means nothing.”
It means nothing? Like your rhetoric?
Her basic idea — and the essential notion of the Left — is that Trump’s ascension to the highest office of the land must be terminated. The thing they seem to ignore is the fact that the country elected him. It is not up to Democrats to decided whether he should remain in the White House. We voted. Everyone voted. Democrats lost. Fair and square.
And speaking of geometry, let’s circle back to Waters’s declaration:
“We do not need or have to tolerate this.”
Yes, you do, Maxine. Yes, you do.
