'New York Times' 'Reporter' on MSNBC: Donald Trump Wants to Round Up People and Murder Them

Jim Acosta wonders why Trump considers the media the enemy. That seems strange, since one of his biggest reasons for that notion could be…Jim Acosta (see here and here).

But even in an Acosta-less world, the theory would still have some merit. Press and major network news programs regularly vilify the President and — by extension — anyone who supports him (as evidenced here, here, and here).

Along those lines, buckle up and put in your mouthpiece — this one’s gonna be a real slap in the face.

On MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily Friday, New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg decided she’d give you a really, really excellent reason to cancel your subscription.

Ready, maniacs?

Firstly, Caitlin Huey-Burns — reporter for RealClearPolitics — incidentally referred to Trump as “the leader of the free world,” mid-insult.

Goldberg took issue with that characterization:

“He’s not the leader of the free world. But, sorry…”

????

Goldberg…

…and, remember — this is someone who’s bringing you the news…

Goldberg explained:

“Angela Merkel is the leader of the free world. … He’s a sort of junior player in a bloc of authoritarian countries. … He’s part of a bloc that includes [Russian President] Vladimir Putin, [Philippines President Rodrigo] Duterte. … He’s part of kind of an axis of power of thugs.”*

And that’s the news, folks.

But not quite all.

[*I believe the word she used is “thugs.” See for yourself in the video below.]

Host Katy Tur provided a hair of pushback:

“[Trump] is not rounding people up and murdering them without any due process.”

Ready for Goldberg’s reply? Sit back:

“He would certainly like to.”

Seriously — that was her reply.

The newswoman.

That gets you a job at The New York Times.

Katy offered a counterargument.

Now, what might you think that would be? Something along the lines of “You are really, really, really insane” might fit the bill.

She went for something with significantly less punch:

“I don’t think you can say that definitively, Michelle.”

NOTE: “I don’t THINK you can say that DEFINITIVELY.”

She doesn’t think. Definitively. You know — maybe a little murder, sure. But not just a complete extermination of the planet. Some, of course. But let’s keep a little perspective.

And that, Jim Acosta, is that.
