Democratic Rep Blames All of Congress for Family Separation, and We're Now Imprisoning Ducks

Among today’s news shows, vilification of President Trump was an easy maneuver on the part of politicians and pundits. On CNN’s State of the Union, Democrat Beto O’Rourke chose a different path. He blamed…

…the parents trying to sneak over the border with their children?

Trump, for not demanding we keep children in jail?

Guess again.

The Texas representative said it’s the fault of–

“all of us.”

Meaning all of Congress.

Plus Trump, of course:

“This is inhumane. I’d like to say it’s un-American but it’s happening right now in America. And it is on all of us, not just the Trump administration. This is on all of us.”

O’Rourke was set for a Sunday tour of a facility housing migrant chil–

Oh, by the way: have you heard? Orange is the new black, and “migrant” is the new “illegal alien.” “Migrant” is cool because it tells you nothing about the situation. Also, “asylum seekers” is great. Look for these words to aid in your confusion concerning the news of the day. You’ll have no idea whether someone is an illegal alien or a duck flying south for the winter.

You won’t know if the person described is just a friendly traveler or a breaker of the law. You’ll be unclear as to whether it’s someone from a foreign country pleading with the U.S. to save them from their impending and unjust execution, or simply an opportunist who appreciates America’s inbility to guard its borders.

Enjoy these. You’re now going to know even less about various scenarios harped upon.

O’Rourke is soon to face down Ted Cruz for a seat in the Senate. He said he’s in the midst of creating a bill to end family separation, which he’ll introduce in the House sometime this week.

“There’s a way to do this. The right way to do this. And I want this country to do that at this critical moment. We will be judged for what we do or what we fail to do right now.”

No, you won’t. That’s very quotable of you to say, but it isn’t true. Some of you will continue to say it, though, each time there’s a new topic in the short-attention-span news cycle.

The Trump administration says the current law (not simply a “policy,” as far too many continue to assert) serves as a deterrent to illegal immigration. Hillary Clinton agrees:

Now here’s CNN lying, calling the law a “new practice”:

It’s a brand new practice to follow the law? Well, in any case, you can relax: they’re just ducks.
