Caitlyn Jenner, who the national media can’t decide if they like or not, decided earlier today to test Donald Trump’s recent comment that Jenner was free to use any bathroom in Trump Tower.
Via Politico:
Jenner walks into Trump’s facility, asks for directions to the restroom and bypasses the men’s bathroom en route to the women’s restroom.
“M, not anymore,” she says, referring to the men’s room. “W,” she adds as she enters that bathroom instead.
“Thank you, Donald,” she says as she leaves the restroom. “I really appreciate it, and by the way, Ted, nobody got molested.”
Here’s the video.
I know what you’re thinking, and I’m thinking the same thing. That we live in a society that is so completely devoid of common sense and decency is deplorable. No one, and I mean no one, should be permitted to film in portrait and the fact that it continues to happen is something that makes me ashamed to be an American.
As for the political message Jenner is employing here, specifically the “no one was molested” parting shot at Ted Cruz, it is astounding how many people simply refuse to accept the actual point of those who object to this now repealed ordinance.
I have no idea the statistics of transgenders that are pedophiles. It could be more than people who identify with their birth gender, it could be less. I really don’t care.
The issue is that the solution to someone else’s grievance creates an unacceptable safety risk for others. In order for the law to truly work the way it is described, there should be nothing preventing a man who is straight, dresses like Paul Bundy and has a beard that reaches the floor, going into a women’s restroom and peeing next to my 10 year old daughter. And there isn’t.
All of the cries about how transgenders won’t molest anyone seem to miss (or intentionally miss) that ridiculously obvious point. If you put no restrictions on who can go into a bathroom, people that are less pure and holy than Caitlyn Jenner will go in there.
If there is a legitimate grievance about transgenders using the bathroom they are more comfortable with, fine, let’s talk solutions. Taking all restrictions off of whose penis can be in arm’s length of my daughter ain’t one of the solutions.
