It will cause uproars from ladies that are already in the bathroom, or worse, the locker room. In some situations, you will undoubtedly be around women at moments that are intended to be private. If you go into a locker room for instance, you may inadvertently see or be near an undressed female who is abhorred by your presence. But this is a necessary step for equality.

I am a single father. My ex-wife and I have a very amicable relationship and our custody arrangement permits me to have the kids for the entire week every other week. A true 50/50 custody arrangement.

As any single parent will tell you, your role becomes both father and mother when your children are in your care. But society is not always tolerant or helpful in this regard.

For years there were no tables to pull down in the men’s bathroom to allow changing of diapers. Still to this day there are no stand-up urinals in women’s bathrooms to accommodate mothers who have penises.

And now it’s my turn to stand up against discrimination. I, a father of 3 daughters and 1 son, all of whom are of a very young age, am only able to escort my young son to the bathroom or locker room simply because society refuses to accept my status as both father and mother.

My daughters are forced to hold their need to go to the bathroom when in public because I refuse to allow them to go into the bathroom by themselves.

To be clear, it’s not a new event that I won’t let them go in there by themselves. This isn’t the result of the NC law that has been making waves. Predators are a concern any time I take my children into public, regardless of any law that might permit a random guy from claiming he’s female to get into the ladies bathroom.

This isn’t about fear, it’s about accommodation. I had assumed that the world was too big and complex to try and accommodate every single individual need of every single person, but the activist left has proven me wrong.

Everything must have special rules & laws built to coddle that one particular person’s needs and I don’t think I should be an exception.

I’m tired of having to listen to my daughter’s complain about the need to go to the bathroom and only being able to if they come into the men’s bathroom with me which is, let’s face it, a filthy place.

They and I shouldn’t have to make choices like this. I am a father all the time and a mother every other week. It is a disgrace that no law has been passed which allows me to live this life I have chosen.

In protest, I am going to start escorting my daughters into the restrooms & locker rooms, only on weeks where I’m identifying as a mother. I know that will be absolutely mortifying for women who had sought privacy, but they need to come up with their own rules to accommodate their specific needs just as I have.

I’ve just recently decided to start going to the gym more often. Most times my kids won’t be with me, but when they are, I look forward to hearing your naked complaints about my presence.

But honestly, I won’t care much about your concerns. This is about me and my needs. And it’s not like single fathers are by default perverts. Therefore, your privacy is irrelevant. That’s how progress works.
