The Russian military is making the absurd claim that the chemical attack in Syria so recently and widely condemned internationally was staged by the UK, in order to frame Syria/Russia/Abbas.

“We have… evidence that proves Britain was directly involved in organising this provocation,” said Gen. Igor Konashenkov.
This follows a statement from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who said earlier at a press conference the attack was staged as part of a “Russophobic campaign,” though he declined to name Britain.
We have irrefutable evidence that this was yet another performance and that security services of a country which is trying to be in the frontlines of the Russophobic campaign were involved in this performance.
At the U.N. Security Council meeting, ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said of the United States, France and Britain that “the sole thing they have an interest in is to oust the Syrian government and, more broadly, to deter and contain the Russian Federation.”
Russia’s media blitz is continuing to develop. We will bring you more from the Security Council shortly.
