The Austin Police Department held a presser this morning and offered a very detailed account of the confrontation and death of the Austin bombing suspect.
The cause of death was confirmed to be self-detonation of his own explosive device within his vehicle. He was not shot by the police, nor did police set off the bomb. The bomber detonated his own device within his own vehicle.

They were not able to identify the suspect, and there are hours unaccounted for in the suspect’s timeline, so police remind Austin residents to remain vigilant in case he was able to plant other devices before the end.
One officer suffered minor injuries when the bomb detonated. One other officer fired his weapon at the time of the device detonation. According to police, there were no other firearms discharged.
