Sally Yates Testifies: ‘We believed that Gen. Flynn was compromised’ by Russia (VIDEO)

Former Obama administration Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, who was acting Attorney General in January following Lynch’s departure, informed the White House in late January that the Justice Department believed that General Flynn had been compromised by the Russians, according to her testimony today before congress.

More from Politico:

Yates said she told White House counsel Don McGahn that Flynn had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other senior officials and that as a result, public statements by White House officials were inaccurate.

“To state the obvious, you don’t want your national security adviser compromised with the Russians,” Yates said.

President Trump has been blasting Yates from his Twitter podium.

The news of the day that President Obama warned then President-elect Trump about Flynn was mocked and dismissed in the usual corners, but NBC claims this was confirmed by Trump administration officials, who said Trump thought Obama was just horsing around. You know how Presidents do jokes about national security and whatnot.

A senior Trump administration official acknowledged Monday that Obama raised the issue of Flynn, saying the former president made clear he was “not a fan of Michael Flynn.” Another official said Obama’s remark seemed like it was made in jest.

Per usual, most of the conservative buzz-o-sphere is bitching about leaks today, as opposed to expressing concern over the National Security post being given to someone who was believed by the Justice Dept. to have been compromised by foreign agents.

Meanwhile, Yates was also busy in other areas, just doing whatever.
