Senator Ted Cruz released a brief statement on his Facebook page in response to the now infamous comments Trump made about women in a 2005 recording. Cruz’s comment is part of an avalanche of condemnations, and follows his very recent and very late decision to support Donald in November.

In its entirety:

These comments are disturbing and inappropriate, there is simply no excuse for them. Every wife, mother, daughter – every person – deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

I continue to be amazed by Trump fans who pretend that these were just normal “guy talk” comments. If you can’t tell the difference between what Trump was caught doing and saying, and actual “locker room talk” then I pity you. And probably wouldn’t let you near my daughters.

And if I was Ted Cruz, I wouldn’t want Trump anywhere near my family anyway, regardless of this tape.
