Today is December 2nd. On this date in 1804, Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned Emperor at the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. He famously placed the crown on his own head rather than having it placed their ceremoniously by the Pope, in what history widely considers to be the first #humblebrag.
Also on this date, in 1997, the Ben Affleck and Matt Damon film Good Will Hunting debuted. The film was very popular and won several awards, proving once again my long held theory that people in 1997 didn’t know much about Matt Damon.
And finally, today is National Mutt Day, a day for “embracing, saving and celebrating mixed breed dogs.” In light of which, please look at this picture of my dog, Indiana, chewing on a plastic bottle:
