Somebody inform President Trump that the 2016 election is over and he actually won.
At the Republican National Committee meeting on Thursday night, Trump decided to revisit the 2016 election, complete with personal attacks (nothing to do with policy, since he actually doesn’t understand policy, ethics, or anything beyond reality TV hyperbole).
The event was held at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. (of course).
During the course of the event, the president took a swipe at Evan McMullin, a former CIA agent, Independent candidate for the presidency, and a pretty consistent critic of Trump.
“Remember when they had that clown come out,” Trump said. “That’s the guy that nobody ever heard of, supposed to be beating me? Hillary [Clinton] beat him in Utah.”
Trump has previously mocked McMullin by dubbing him Evan “McMuffin.”
McMullin’s response to Trump’s comments were simple and accurate.
I’d rather be a clown than a puppet, @realDonaldTrump. pic.twitter.com/ueBmJ2Ix2D

By “puppet,” McMullin is suggesting that Vladimir Putin has his hand stuck somewhere up Trump’s back, and when you see Trump’s mouth moving, it’s not really him speaking.
I’m not going to go that far, but I will say Trump has had more than a few marionettes tangling strings on his team.
You can make up your own mind about who the puppet master is.
