The suspect in the horrific attack on protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia has been named.
According to CNN:
The suspect being held in a Virginia jail in connection with a deadly crash near a scheduled rally of white nationalists has been identified as James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Maumee, Ohio, according to Superintendent Martin Kumer with the Albermarle-Charlottesville County Regional Jail .
Fields is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.
A search for Fields on Facebook turns up little information, other than he was possibly listed as an active duty servicemember with the U.S. Army from August 18 to December 11, 2015.
In the attack today, one woman was killed and another 19 people were injured.
There were also reports of 2 deaths in a helicopter crash that has been connected to today’s violence in Charlottesville, but it is unclear as to how it is related.
