I’m not going to say the announcement of a special prosecutor – Robert Mueller – in the Russia investigation has the Trump administration shaken up, but…
I think the announcement of a special prosecutor in the Russia investigation has the Trump administration shaken up.
Sure, President Trump is saying it’s no big deal and he’s sure he’ll walk away unscathed, but something is going on.
Trump’s mouthpiece, Kellyanne Conway, was scheduled to appear on the friendliest of territory last night – Fox News – with Tucker Carlson, but abruptly cancelled.
Tucker Carlson noted Conway’s cancellation during Wednesday’s show, saying the show booked Conway at the request of the White House.
“Kellyanne Conway was going to be sitting in that seat,” Carlson said. “We had booked her at their request. We don’t often have people from the administration on, but they said ‘we want to send over Kellyanne Conway’ – great.”
“Then, not long before air,” Carlson continued, “they canceled it, for reasons that were not exactly clear.
The cancellation came after the announcement of Mueller as special prosecutor.
The speculation here is that the administration wanted Conway to pimp the idea of Trump’s innocence after news of the Comey memos broke, but the addition of Mueller as a new player complicated matters.

We may not know for sure, but it certainly sounds like the White House is being cautious, as they attempt to weather this storm.
