Go away, Hillary. Please.
Hillary Clinton has dusted off her vagina card and paired it with a healthy helping of victimhood, in order to explain away her 2016 election loss.
Clinton went into hiding after her loss, and the world enjoyed several months of Clinton-free bliss. There was, for a few moments, the hope that she would realize that the public, including Democrats, had spoken and she was not who they wanted as a leader.
After all, she has every reason to retire.
She’s given a huge portion of her life to politics, so it’s not like she’s never held any kind of office. She doesn’t have to hold them all.
She’s a grandmother. She should take some time to do grandmother things, like baking cookies and taking way too many pictures.
Her health wasn’t exactly tip-top on the campaign trail. Maybe now is time to take care of herself.
So many reasons to retire, and only one to reemerge: Pride.
Said Clinton, while discussing her election loss:
“Certainly, misogyny played a role,” Clinton said at the Women of the World Summit in New York. “I mean, that just has to be admitted. And why and what the underlying reasons were is what I’m trying to parse out myself.”
No, Hillary. It wasn’t “misogyny.” You’re just a really lousy candidate and you were faced with a candidate that many thought was slightly less lousy.
“I think in this election there was a very real struggle between what is viewed as change that is welcomed and exciting to so many Americans, and change which is worrisome and threatening to so many others,” Clinton said. “And you layer on the first woman president over that and I think some people, women included, had real problems.”
If Hillary is serious about making a comeback – as I suspect she is – then she’d better do some actual self-examination.
She didn’t lose because people were afraid of the first woman president. She lost because she was corrupt and unlikeable to so many people, who weren’t part of the west coast liberal cabal, or the northeastern elite set. To continue denying that reality is a snobbish disconnect from the working class citizenry.
Playing the victim from her seat of privilege doesn’t go over well to a great many Americans.
On second thought… Don’t do any self-examination, Hill. Just carry on blaming everybody except yourself.
Good luck in 2020.
