If you were clinging to any vain hope of Donald Trump keeping it together and not doing something really stupid over the Independence Day weekend, I truly hate to be the one to break it to you, but Trump is nothing, if not consistent.
Trump’s crack graphics staff whipped up an ad to attack “crooked Hillary,” that came across about as badly as could be imagined, especially in light of the fact that Trump has stirred up the bottom feeders of white Nationalism and the foul stench that follows them.
Update: Trump deleted the Tweet. Here’s a screenshot:
The six-pointed Star of David is widely regarded as the symbol for Judaism. It is featured on the Israeli national flag, and tragically, European Jews, under Adolph Hitler’s reign of terror were required to wear them on their clothes, as a defining mark.
Of all the vile caricatures of the Jewish people to come out of that regime, one that has stood the test of time with bigoted scum, worldwide, is that of Jews being greedy, money-hoarding, cheats.
So here is Trump, a man who once leaned on that caricature, saying, “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
Nice, Donald. Insult two ethnic groups at once.
It may be possible that the six-pointed star, superimposed over a bed of money has nothing to do with a slap at the Jewish people.
It’s highly possible that Trump is so dull-witted that he doesn’t understand what he’s done, or how that dog whistle sounds to the seedy elements within his base supporters.
What is undeniable, however, is that others see it, and they have not missed that symbolism.
Idiot who panders to bigots tweets antisemitic image suggesting Hillary is bought by Jews (that's a Star of David). https://t.co/NzLdQF3TOh

Optics matter, Donnie.
As of noon, the actual tweet was finally removed, but not before catching much-deserved heat. A new, revised tweet, with a circle, rather than a six-pointed star was inserted into the new ad. Here is the screen-shot comparison, however.
Trump caved to the PC police. No leadership. Sad! pic.twitter.com/T4ZIdUvseT
