Good Tea Party documentary.

Glenn Reynolds is a commenter in this documentary by the Knoxville News-Sentinel about the Tea Party  (The Tea Party: Brewing up a movement), and both he and it comes off well:

Short version: it concentrates on why people think that the Tea Partiers are participating and where it will end up going, and – very refreshingly – manages to do so without once regurgitating Democratic / liberal hate speech.  If you’re the sort who enjoys being told that a bunch of older folks worried about their grandkids’ future are actually secretly racist bigots, by all means, watch this video: the utter lack of such prog-porn will no doubt pop a vein.  In other words, it’s a legitimate documentary.  in fact, tt’s interesting that even the Official Voice of Dissent for this one is generally careful not to be as rude as, say, Ted Strickland* was.  Tells you a bit about how the movement is being seen in the battleground states…

Moe Lane [crosspost]

*Example picked because the fool actually thought that he could scream about them last week and still seek their support – something that even the newspapers aren’t buying, and for good reason. Of course, Ted Strickland is used to dealing with the Activist Left; I understand that this sort of thing works all the time on them.

I think Congressman Duncan is right that the republican party is the best place-probably the only place to make a difference.

I believe the teaparty will be a positive influence on republican party-it will steer them at the state and local level towards the right path.

I believe that 95% of teaparty sympathizers are supporting Haslam for Governor here in TN. I think a few leaders of the teaparty are still supporting indie candidates for governor. I heard one on the radio the other day.

Tennesseans please support Jim Hardin.

Jim Hardin is supported by many of the people you see in that vid. It’s time the Socialist Jimmy “income-tax” Naifeh left the Tennessee state government for good.

www.electjimhardin.com Jim Hardin is a really great guy.

I second that

idea of electing Jim Hardin-lets take Jimmy Naifeh

Before the idea of thread hijacking comes up lets remember that the teaparty is more then about electing senators or congressman and even governors. There are guys and gals running for state legislative positions in Tennessee and other states will have a huge impact on this country. Yes we need several more legislative seats here in TN to insure that our congressional gains do not get lost in redistricting.

The fight against federalism starts by our states standing up for their rights so yes by all means do not forget state elections this year.

Great documentary. Somebody in the middle of the documentary is wondering what part of the government they are protesting against. Here are the list of government programs that has been a disaster. Now you see mister.

1) War on poverty – Currently 7% of Americans live in poverty after several TRILLIONS have been spent on fighting poverty.

2) Social security – If you are below 50 you are better of believing Santa Claus than getting social security benefits

3) Department of education – American kids K-12 are increasingly below other developed nations, high school graduation rate declining, high-tech industry’s reliance on imported workers

4) Department of commerce – Big negative balance of trade,, industry mix skewed towards white color, vanishing manufacturing base

5) EPA – Also know as job killer

6) Fannie & Freddie – Even though they are public companies because of government meddling now Americans are on the hook for TRILLIONS

7) Auto industry – Chrysler was once bailed out by government. When Mercedes dumped them it should be clear that they are not salvageable. GM does not have the DNA to be a viable auto company anymore. Whatever movement that we see is similar to the blinking of coma patient. Now tax payers money pissed away.

8) Welfare – Has created a permanent dependent class of people
