I’ve got a request for Kendrick Meek (D CAND, FL-SEN). Rep. Meek, please watch this week’s Republican response video by Marco Rubio:
…then show me what you’ve got to match that. Go right ahead and try to impress me. Because I heard that you’re just a legacy Congressman who got his job because your mommy didn’t want her seat anymore – and that you’ve never had to actually fight to keep that seat in a general election – which means that you’re so far in above your head right now that you’re touching the bottom of the pool. But, hey: I invite you to prove me wrong. So wow me, and more importantly, wow the Florida electorate.
If you can.
Moe Lane
PS: Charlie, we already worked out that you had nothing when it comes to facing down Marco Rubio. Now hush: grownups talking.

Marco Rubio do a GREAT JOB....
txgeekgirl (Diary) Saturday, August 28th at 7:41PM EST (link)I just saw this on TV a few minutes ago. Marco Rubio sent out a GREAT message – but who is listening… is the 18-25 year old group drinking, not wanting to work, smokin’ dope, and having babies they can’t support? NO. Or how about the women my age who have chosen to give up because being the mom and the dad is damned hard work? Too many people looking for easy. Life isn’t easy.

One of the best political clips I'v seen in a while.
jeffreywturner (Diary) Saturday, August 28th at 8:04PM EST (link)Was this the response to the President’s weekly radio address? If so it was a waste because no one listens to those things other than hardcore partisans who are not open-minded on who to vote for.
Speaking of hardcore partisans, I wonder how many of the nutroots / “progressives” (who all claim to love America) you could even get to come out in agreement with Marco’s basic assertion that America is the greatest nation in the history of the world? Not that “has the potential to be”, but that it already is, without qualifiers.
“Life is too short, can’t we all just eat pork and kill some terrorists?”
Then Facebook it and get it out there
rec0n Saturday, August 28th at 8:33PM EST (link)So people do see it. Add it to a blog. I think now is when many will finally start choosing who to support, now that the field has narrowed and the weak cut from the herd. Easier than doing your own research and participating (and I say that b/c at one time I was one of the people I’m talking about).
Off to add Rubio to my FB page – later.
Ya know...
spreadout Saturday, August 28th at 8:34PM EST (link)I’m very happy with our slate of of candidates (Angle, Miller, Paul, Buck) and I think they will make pretty good Senators.
However, this guy looks like presidential material right now or pretty soon. Did anyone see his new ad?
I’m relatively new to RedState; I hope its ok to post videos in the comments. If not, remove it.
retread of “downcold” and will get an IP ban if I register again.
Thanks for sharing this video
Vegas_Rick (Diary) Sunday, August 29th at 3:41PM EST (link)it’s a great spot. Especially when compared to the Democrats vitriolic offerings.
“God is great, beer is good and people are crazy.”- Billy Currington
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” Calvin Coolidge.
Very, very good.
Corie Whalen (Diary) Saturday, August 28th at 8:37PM EST (link)He’s damn good. Everything about his background and his message are perfect. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s extremely attractive and has that Presidential vibe written all over him. I’m hoping he has DeMint caliber principles and really turns his rhetoric into action in DC. *fingers crossed*.
(And yes – I’m working under the assumption that he’s going to win – positive thoughts!)

Wow. A US Senate candidate to be proud of.
mbecker908 (Diary) Saturday, August 28th at 9:24PM EST (link)And he’ll be a US Senator to be proud of.
God but I’m jealous.
I'm not sure I know how to deal with this
RedBeard Monday, August 30th at 7:59AM EST (link)I mean, with Rubio, I’m actually going to have someone to vote for in November, instead of just voting against people. What a remarkably positive turn of events, given the disturbing state of politics in this day and age.
Standard-bearer for grouchy curmudgeonry since, oh, 1975 or so.
Rubio is really great
brumbow Saturday, August 28th at 9:57PM EST (link)and he does an excellent job articulating the very simple, yet powerful truths about the economy with regards to the problem s inherent to the Liberal agenda’s negative effects on private sector job creation. Well done and keep up the great work. I have contributed to his campaign because all Senate races are now essentially national due to the massive impact of the federal government. Thank you Moe for posting this and helping promote Rubio.

Marco Rubio (R CAND, FL-SEN) brings it.
dfwpike Sunday, August 29th at 12:03AM EST (link)I’ve got a request for Charlie Crist (I CAND, FL-SEN). Rep. Crist, please watch this week’s Republican response by Marco Rubio…
He's going to be president one day
mboyle1988 (Diary) Sunday, August 29th at 12:28AM EST (link)I wish he could run for 2012, but he won’t have enough experience by then. Romney/Rubio would be an okay ticket, but Rubio is just a million times better than Romney, even if Romney is the smartest and most competent politician I know of. He’s also boring and too calculating for my liking.

Adjoran (Diary) Sunday, August 29th at 2:33AM EST (link)I can’t listen to the guy for two minutes without saying, “WOW! This idiot is a congressman?”
I attended a Rotary Club luncheon where he spoke...
mitchsf Sunday, August 29th at 7:46AM EST (link)thirty minutes, no teleprompter, no mumbling, no stumbling. His speech was organized and covered his platform very well. He talent for conveying his message is certainly a great attribute that will take him far in politics, as it did for Clinton.
Agree.
uselogic Sunday, August 29th at 11:21AM EST (link)He’s the real deal. Reminds me of Jeb Bush circa 1994. He is and Jeb was then great on message and nimble off the cuff.
Frankly Rubio is exactly what our political discourse needs.
BA Cyclone (Diary) Monday, August 30th at 1:34AM EST (link)He clearly and plainly articulates the position of Liberty versus the opposition’s command-and-control design.
We desperately need someone just like that for the 2012 Presidential slate, even if it is not Rubio himself. And I’m very glad that we have Rubio on the slate for Senate – he will certainly raise the bar while he is there and that is obviously just what is needed.

Rubio's message was very powerful and well-delivered...
rbdwiggins (Diary) Sunday, August 29th at 8:07AM EST (link)So powerful, it’s likely that the Democrat establishment recognizes the futility of spending time and money on such a weak candidate (Meek) and will conduct a stealth campaign in Florida to elect Charlie Crist.

I've been supporting him from afar
america1st (Diary) Tuesday, August 31st at 1:50PM EST (link)for months simply because even a sewage lagoon would be preferable to Orange Charlie. Imagine my soaring spirits when I see such a MAN defending America. As others noted above, I want to see what he does in the next 6 – 12 years, but at this point he most definitely has the scent of Presidential greatness about him.
Oh, and Mr. Hairball? Mr. Rubio just articulated why a Hispanic voter or, indeed, a voter of *any* ancestry, could (*should*) embrace the GOP . . . the party of opportunity, not condescending paternalism.
Logic in the mind of a liberal is like a snowflake in the desert: lost, alone and soon destroyed by a hostile environment.
