Bruce is one of several candidates looking for the opportunity to be the one who gets to escort Alan Grayson back to private life, and he chatted with RedState this afternoon:
The primary is next month; Bruce’s website is here.

But does he have a position on auditing the Federal Reserve?
Thane_Eichenauer Saturday, July 31st at 8:11PM EST (link)Not that I could find. Todd Long does:

You know what would be really sweet, folks?
Moe Lane (Diary) Saturday, July 31st at 8:16PM EST (link)It’d be really sweet if people stopped trying to turn posts about one particular candidate in a contested primary into posts about another particular candidate in a contested primary. All it does is annoy people, and subtly degrade the public reaction to the candidate that you’re trying to pump up in the first place.
Seriously. I’m seeing this in other people’s threads, and it’s annoying. So let’s not have it happen to the nice site moderator’s posts, OK?

Nicer than I would have put it....

I hope people take notice of this comment…we need to remember what’s most important here. Unfortunately for Paulites, a single position isn’t it.
The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.

Willfull ignorance vs monolithic comments
Thane_Eichenauer Sunday, August 1st at 7:32PM EST (link)If Bruce O’Donoghue has a weak point (and he does) would you rather people not point it out when there is time and opportunity to do so or would you rather the candidate, his supporters and free-market voters in general remain ignorant of it until after the primary election?
Mr. Moe Lane, Feel free to suggest to Mr. O’Donoghue that he adopt a position on auditing the Federal Reserve and put out a news release on his web site. Alan Grayson has enthusiastically supported legislation to audit the Federal Reserve. In my book if a Republican opponent can’t find the time or opportunity to match Alan Grayson, Bernie Sanders and Raul Grijalva (HR 1207 cosponsors) on this issue then voters and possible supporters should be warned about that.
There are web site options to turn off comments and if you or this site thinks that messy comments on a post are too much to handle I imagine that is an option for you (I hear the Brady Campaign is a fan of this choice). I don’t believe that the messiness induced by my comment is likely to harm Mr. O’Donoghue’s campaign effort. Should he adopt a position on auditing the Federal Reserve there is all the more likelihood that I will move on to making comments on posts about other candidates who also have failed to take a position on auditing the Federal Reserve.
Free speech can be a messy thing but it beats the alternative of no speech at all.
If my modest comment harmed any readers then I hope they will accept my apology.

Thane- It only takes a few clicks on Google
Scope (Diary) Sunday, August 1st at 7:47PM EST (link)to get alot of feedback on you. Alot. You posted on one blogsite that the voters are just not smart enough to realize that Ron Paul was/is the best candidate.
On another site you asked that voters write in your name on the ballot.
I really really don’t think you will gain a long posting history here at Redstate, and, I will take the honor of being the first to say Goodbye. I don’t speaka the Spanish, but, I think it goes something like Aidios Amigo.
I would think that if you are going to accuse me
Thane_Eichenauer Sunday, August 1st at 8:40PM EST (link)of making a claim that “not smart enough to realize that Ron Paul was/is the best candidate” that you would provide a hyperlink to that comment.
If you wish to use another language you should at least take care to spell “Adios Amigo” correctly.
If you took the time to click on my username you will notice that I’ve been a registered user here for a year longer than you have. I hope so long as I add to the conversation in a respectful and polite fashion that I will continue to be a user here for a long time to come.
You are absolutely correct that I have asked voters (on another site) to cast their (write-in) vote for me – but I don’t want to be convicted of hijacking this post so I will allow others to pursue that awful truth.
Here you go Thane

I really don’t give a dang if you were a member here since the beginning of the site. You joined, and, apparently haven’t had much to say until it came to the illegal alien thingy. Are you really trying to use the seniority thing now? That’s a loser right there. Aidios Amigo.
Misquoted
Thane_Eichenauer Monday, August 2nd at 2:23AM EST (link)Scope,
You have misquoted me. I made no such statement.
Accounts that have been here for multiple years
mbecker908 (Diary) Sunday, August 1st at 9:33PM EST (link)with limited comment/diary activity, such as yours, belong to trolls about 98% of the time.
The proof here is that you’re a Libertarian, pimping for write in votes elsewhere, who supports neither Republican or Conservative values. Supporting Ron Paul for any elective office puts you WELL outside the third standard deviation of political affiliation at Redstate.
As I noted earlier…
It is all a conspiracy - a conspiracy I say! (not)
Thane_Eichenauer Monday, August 2nd at 2:39AM EST (link)The following is a satirical response to mbecker908.
You caught me. I am indeed a sleeper agent and volunteer for the John McCain 2012 for President campaign whose goal is to dissipate conservative Republican energy by posting comments about auditing the Federal Reserve on redstate.com..
I was persuaded to join the campaign three years ago by an operative who I am nearly certain was Bristol Palin’s BFF who went by the code name “Little Grizzly”. I am pretty sure the agent is a supporter of Republican (but still lousy) Alaska US Senator Lisa Murkowski.
I really have to go now so I can reread my autographed copy of Mao’s Little Red Book.
Gee Thane, you puport to live in Phoenix and

Moe
rdelbov Saturday, July 31st at 9:23PM EST (link)I for one want to say “great interview”–These interviews are always about the candidate and not about Moe. If watch CNN or CNBC(I feel sorry for you if do-I don’t anymore) the interview is as much about the interviewer as the interviewee. Not so with Moe.
A common thread for these interviewees is that want to go to DC and make a difference on day one.
They want to go to DC with a giant “stop” sign and “lets repeal now” sign.
Great stuff
He sounds nice
gaberuth Sunday, August 1st at 1:16AM EST (link)Too nice to beat Grayson. His staff puts out tough press releases, but Bruce sounds like he would fold under a direct confrontation with Grayson.
I would love it if an interviewer would ask Bruce if he will condemn Mel Martinez’ position on Amnesty and Cap and Trade. Mel is Bruce’s biggest endorser.
Bruce is the establishment candidate handpicked by the NRCC. I heard him say in a past interview that he would cut the budget with a “scalpal”. I think he has good intentions, but he would be too weak to make any real change in Washington.
One final point. His “small business” is actually a traffic light company. He is a government contractor.
Great Candidate
proudgop (Diary) Sunday, August 1st at 1:42AM EST (link)He is great candidate. I like him and Daniel Webster in the race ( I do like how Bruce can self fundraise cause so can Grayson)
Thank you for doing these interviews, Moe.
gamechange11two Sunday, August 1st at 1:02PM EST (link)It’s good to have linkable source material that puts names to faces.
What jumps out at me are O’donoghue’s remarks about phony tea party candidates funded by Grayson. This strategy is being employed here in Michigan, too. People tied to the UAW and the democrats have established a party statewide, and are running “tea party” candidates districts with tight races.
Obvously, they want to siphon off some of the comatose 9% (see Moe’s post above) who insist on remaining more exuberant than informed when they go to vote. Seems a bit cynical when you know these were the same people crying foul over the butterfly ballots in Palm Beach ten years ago.
Are any ad campaigns planned to combat these bogus tea partiers?
