This is exactly the wrong message to send. The true conservative must be held to proclaim, believe and act on the idea that he or she will use elected office to “Get gubmint off the backs of businesses so that THEY can create jobs.”

And BTW, private sector unions will soon be a thing of the past for the very reasons stated in the post. Eventually, even rapacious unions cannot steal enough from their members to pay for all the goodies. However, a reference was made above to “public sector unions.” These, I’m afraid, will be a much tougher nut to crack.

Of union members voting conservative/republican are accurate, those are the percentages that are needed to petition union leaderships to break down how much of our dues monies are going for political donations. Teamsters are averaging 80% of our dues monies going to democratic candidates, helping out those who are “friendly” to labour. The dues can then be lowered, if they are sending money to people whom you neither espouse or endorse. It’s an arduous path, but it’s one way to trim contributions to all of those folks, “friendly” to the” working man”.

Not that it really matters in this instance but just wanted to point out another corrupt relationship.

I do not understand why no one is informing us of the S. 510 “Food Safety” bill which is just more regulation which may reach down to the ordinary citizen who wants to grow a garden for their own use.

It will also greatly affect the small farmer who may have to close down due to all the additional paperwork (due to all the additional regs). Think higher prices at the grocery store–as if you have not already noticed.

Even Glenn Beck didn’t mention it until one of his callers told him about it–then he spent about 15 min. on it and hasn’t mentioned it since.

It was voted into cloture on 11-18-10, which means it will no doubt pass. My Senator Grassley voted for cloture and I am SO DISAPPOINTED IN HIM!! Just like everything else this administration has done, it is sneaked in while everyone else is concentrating on something else–like the TSA or the elimination of Happy Meals. Final vote is expected this week–possibly today.

We must keep our ears open to any hints of what this administration might THINK of doing and then use all means of research to dig and dig. I know it’s hard–most people don’t have the time. They are busy working to pay their taxes so the government can waste the money they paid into it.

ObamCare notwithstanding, it was always possible to keep kids on parents’ policies and to cover pre-existing conditions.

You just have to pay the price.

For adult “kids,” the premium should simply reflect the additional cost of the requuired adult policy(s).

For pre-existing conditions, the premium would include the patient paying all costs plus a percentage of the costs to the insurance company as profit.

In the past, no insurance company would offer such arrangements because no one would buy them. The magic of ObamaCare was to portray it all as “free.” The real plan though is to force everyone buy the unaffordable. The reality will be lots of hypocrisy, backtracking, redefinitions, etc.

In the meantime, insurance is all about risk and “realized risks” (i.e., pre-existing condition) are inherently uninsurable.

The best one can do for realized risks is to make the provision of care more efficient and to prevent freeloading.

ObamaCare does just the opposite.

How can this irony not be the headline? If paying the union thugs to negotiate a “living wage” does not include hourly pay adequate for medical insurance, then evidence sits prima facie that the unions are pretty much worthless.

Incompatible things like being able to buy your addictive substance while your kids go “bare” on insurance -OR – paying union dues while you make so little as to qualify for Medicaid; suggest that these people may suffer inadequate judgement to qualify for citizenship (if they are citizens at all).
