Just over two weeks since President Trump said his phones were tapped by President Obama; it’s still in the news. That’s due primarily to Trump and his communications team refusing to acknowledge there is zero allegation to confirm the claim.
They persist in standing behind the claim, and each day it’s in the news, is one less day they have to talk about important issues like the replacement of Obamacare. This morning, Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes was on Fox News Sunday and said, flat out, there was no physical wiretapping of Trump Tower. Watch:

The hilarious aspect of this is Trump supporters citing the New York Times of all places to push back against people like Nunes. The story from January 20th contains the word “wiretapping” and that’s enough for Trump supporters to say he’s right. There’s only one problem. The NY Times story says nothing about Trump Tower or Trump’s phones.
Joe Scarborough of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ saw Nunes on television and tweeted the following:
Three Sundays later, the GOP House Intel chairman confirms that Trump's own Justice Dept admits that Donald Trump was lying about wiretaps. https://t.co/8nutLNFl1Q

Mr. President, stop lying, stop trashing allies and stop making a fool of yourself. Just do what the rest of us do and say you screwed up. https://t.co/pybxiXPXJC

Sorry Joe, that is never going to happen. They’ll hope it goes away on its own but Trump will never say, “I was wrong” or “I screwed up.”
