A Connecticut Conservative In the House of Representatives

I never thought I’d see the day, but it is looking likely.

Sam Caligiuri has released one of his internal polls showing he is one point behind Chris Murphy. Now, the Democrats will say this is an internal poll and scoff. But if they erect a firewall around CT-5 to try to save Chris Murphy, we know this internal poll is accurate.

And frankly, it would not surprise me given how Murphy is behaving on the ground, i.e. running scared.

We just may see a Connecticut conservative go to Congress. Wow.

Is not as blue as you seem to like to think it is. Murphy, Himes, and Courtney are all very vulnerable in CT. McMahon is looking very strong agaisnt Blumenthal. In Massachusetts, Delahunt’s district will go red, and Tsongas and Tierney are both beatable. In Rhode Island, Loughlin was beating Kennedy, so Kennedy decided to retire, and Loughlin could very well beat the Democratic nominee, gay mayor David Cicilline. In New Hampshire, both of the districts will go red. In Maine both districts have a shot at going red.

Now if we can just unseat another Murphy (Scott) a few miles over, we might just start seeing some red spots on the map of the Northeast again.

And a conservative to boot!

I'd be very wary of...

….an internal poll that’s released by any candidate.
Love to see it happen, though.

Today, there is a name for the political doctrine that rejoices in scarcity of everything except government. The name is environmentalism.

who knows . . .

in my congressional race in VA-11, Keith Fimian released an internal poll showing him beating Pat Herrity by 10 points. He was laughed at and lambasted but he ended winning by . . . ten points.

A Connecticut Conservative

Under the shadow of the all male conga line down at the NYT? Not likely.
Connecticut voters are, if anything, predictable, as are the voters in its demographically and geographically similar neighbor, Providence, RI.
On a sweltering night in July, 2004, Washington DC police responded to a call about a car repeatedly bouncing off the in place concrete barriers in downtown DC. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the driver, Representative Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) clad only in his shorts. When asked about the origin of his erratic driving, Representative Kennedy blamed the driving on a combination of medications his doctor had prescribed for him, Ambien, alprazalalazam, and phenergan with codeine for a cough. The police report made no mention of the concomitant consumption of the quart of scotch whiskey. Like father, like son. When police suggested that the Congressman accompany them downtown for a conversation about the events of the night, Representative Kennedy imformed them that he was on his way to cast his vote in the House of Representatives at 2:00 AM. Police in light of an archaic DC regulation politely gave young Paddy a ride home instead.
Several weeks before the DC incident young Patrick was involved in an automobile accident as he turned into the parking lot of a CVS drugstore in his downtown Providence Congressional District. The other driver involved in the accident was covered by a D.O.D. insurance policy. When side by side comparisons of the two publicly available accident reports were made. the DOD covered driver’s report was exquisitely legible, readable, and meticulously thorough. Representative Kennedy’s accident report was barely a scrawl.
Shortly after the DC incident, Representative Kennedy checked himself into a rehab clinic, making no efforts at all to campaign in his own behalf for re election that November and was easuly re elected. The voters in Providence obviously recognized a knight in shining armor when they saw one, even though young Paddy would have probably ended up face down in the mud, his saliva, and his own aspirate had he ever attempted to don a suit of chain mail at any time in his career.

Go for it

I live in this district and would like nothing more than to see Murphy tossed out. He voted to advance the “deem healthcare passed” nonsense and he was arrogant after the vote when he received feedback opposing the disastrous bill. If you live in this district…get your butt out on election day and vote against this man!

I spend ny time sharpening the Japanese Samurai Sword that came back from Iwo Jima in anticipation. There is a blank spot over the fireplace awaiting the arrival of Chris Murphy’s head. This is the state of the political seriousmess of the present situation.
