I haven’t written about Dan Benishek’s campaign for congress. He’s been on the front page several times doing it himself.
Dan Benishek is in a fight against everything we oppose. His “Republican” opponent has sold himself out to the unions and they love him. Between freedom and tyranny, Dan’s opponent has routinely sided with the tyranny of unions that want to impose their ways of not doing business on you and me.
This is a Hoffman v. Scozzafava race and it is within a Republican Primary.
We need to support Dan Benishek. The alternative would be too much.

You did say he has served in your state legislature for a number of years, right? Wasn’t he part of a recent effort to force unionization on in-home care workers? Allen’s long time relationship with the unions can’t be covered up.

tngal (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 10:53AM EST (link)of the way during his treachery over the hc vote you’d know exactly where Dr. Dan’s money came from. Your candidate didn’t even officially announce until mid April that he was running. Dan announced prior to Stupak’s vote and on the very day in mid-March Stupak said he would go along with a Presidential order concering abortions, the floodgates opened and Dan’s facebook page lit up. Five bucks, ten, 25, pouring in from individual voters. I don’t think he even had much of a website at that point. He received instant notoriety and the money poured in from individual donors. So don’t use the money argument because it won’t fly.
And check out your candidate’s website. He should make clear how he feels on obamacare (repeall), immigration (no amnesty) cap and trade, abortion, gun rights, mid east affairs. He keeps saying he wants to bring jobs to michigan, but doesn’t outline a preferred method. With Dr Dan, if you don’t see what you’re looking for you can write and get an answer. Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 5:00PM EST (link)much of his first quarter donations from supporters he gained on Facebook, primarily right after the Stupak disaster vote. You can bet that many of those donations were small donations that Dr. Dan doesn’t have to list in his finance reports. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen any candidate list every single donation from every single donor, down to the last $5 donation. You’re just nit picking, and making yourself look less than brilliant.
It is also false to say that Allen cut government spending when he sponsored a bill that would have given $6.6 million to the SEIU from the taxpayers.
Yes, I am glad that Allen does have a political record to go by. He has proven that he is exactly not what the country or the good citizens of Mich. want to represent them. It there for all to see.

from:
http://www.rightmichigan.com/story/2010/4/23/23928/9309
some excerpts.
first:
Formally known as the Service Employees International Union, the SEIU, you may recall, helped spawn ACORN, which now stands accused of creating voter fraud in the last national election. The scuttlebutt is that the SEIU had already gifted Allen with $2,000 on June 22, 2009. In fact, his campaign financial disclosures – those he chooses to share with the public, that is – reflect such contributions before then.
second:
Since term limits have now forced him not to run for reelection and since Grand Traverse County isn’t in Michigan’s 1st District so he can campaign for a job and tidy salary as a U. S. Representative. Congressional District, he’s purportedly thinking about packing up and moving into a nearby country that is in the 1st.
This maneuver has caused some to label the soon to be ex-senator a “carpet-bagger”, a term coined after the Civil War when northern white men headed to the South in search of power and financial gain. As it pertains to politics, however, it denotes one who shamelessly moves their household into any district so as to promote their career.
and third:
Throughout Jason Allen’s political career he’s given every appearance of catering to special interest groups and been richly rewarded financially in return. For instance, last August Sen. Allen sponsored Michigan Senate Bill 731, which, if signed into law, will greatly benefit the SEIU government employee union.

Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 4:02PM EST (link)First of all, the Emmet county clerk confirmed that Jason Allen changed his voter registration from his residence in Traverse City (not currently in Mich. 1st Dist.) to Alanson on 4/20/2010, in order to vote in Littlefield Township. The political definition of a carpetbagger is when someone moves into an area, district, state etc in which they plan to compete in a political race. Therefore, Jason Allen is very much so a carpetbagger.
http://www.petoskeynews.com/news/article_4e4fba88-4e18-11df-aelf-001cc4c03286.html
Not only is Jason Allen a Union supporter, he introduced Bill number 731 (in the Mich. Senate) which would give statutory cover to a scheme transferring approximately $6.6 million dollars in taxpayer money annually to the SEIU government employee union, one of the parents of ACORN. After being flailed for the bill, he went back and changed the language (of his own bill) to provide protection of the home healthcare workers that would have been affected. No Republican would/should ever support any pro-union initiatives, and, especially not to provide for the SEIU and ACORN.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2523790/posts
Then again, your entire post appears to be one of supporting only those you have been told can win. Benishek will whip his butt in the election. Benishek has been running for this seat since January, long before Allen even thought about getting in the race, and long after the Stupak Ocare disaster. Allen has obviously been a state GOP recruit, or one of Cantor’s Big Guns recruits. They should be avoided like the plague, as they have a deep desire for more RINOS in DC, and have proven it over and over.
Has anyone on Benishek's team bothered to read ..
ettu (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 4:16PM EST (link)… the current (S-3) version of S.B. 731, Michigan Home Help Integrity Act, which was established by Jason Allen with input from the Mackinac Center?
If no, allow me be the first to inform you that the bill quite clearly says “No part of this act shall be interpreted to allow for the unionization of home help workers.”
ettu- If you read my link
Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 4:24PM EST (link)above, you would see that the original Bill 731 did not include that protective language. When Allen got beat up about it, he changed the language to add the protection. Again, no Republican/Conservative should even be writing bills as the original version of Allen’s.
Allen changed it after the outcry from the home help workers.

Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 5:21PM EST (link)and personally I don’t care if you are Allen’s campaign manager, or the leader of the NRCC. The NRCC should not be involved in any primary races across the country, unless they need to step in and recruit someone where there are no candidates running. In past election cycles, there were many many races where R’s didn’t even have a candidate to challenge the D’s. There was no great push to recruit candidates then. This year is very very different, and there are many many R candidates running everywhere. The NRCC, and Cantor with his Big Guns or Young Guns project need to stay out of the primaries, and let the constituients pick their candidate for the general. They have no business wasting their money trying to get the primary elections for their choice of candidates. It will be interesting to see if the candidates not supported by the committees during the primary get much if any help during the general.
Case in point - how much help has Marco Rubio gotten?
acat (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 6:39PM EST (link)Yes, Scott Brown got supported, but the Scott Brown campaign were smart enough to know it couldn’t be overt… but I view Marco Rubio as the acid test.
Prime Time Charlie Crist was recruited – after Marco was in the race – to run for Senate. Had the RNSC stayed out, Charlie would be running for Governor again and Marco would have had a relatively simpler shot.
As it is, the Governors’ mansion is now in play, and while I consider it a plus that Orange Charlie was flushed out into the open, I’m disgusted by the gutless D.C. GOP slugs interfering.
If they can find a way to clean *that* mess, then I’ll have some hope.

Hey ettu, ajgop and reddogreport, where did you go?
Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 5:44PM EST (link)did you run back to the nest like all good little tribblets do? Can’t take the heat huh, then get out of the fire, and stop posting you garbage, about your garbage candidate.
The light that truth brings scares them.
gekster (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 5:51PM EST (link)And in my posts, I have not said I am for or against any candidate.

Ok folks, 2012 is here. Get involved
Still here
reddogreport (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 7:44PM EST (link)Just listening to the Democrat attack machine accuse me of taking payment, not knowing anything about MI-01, or working for one of the candidates,
I must have struck a nerve.
Fact is, I don’t care if it’s Benishek, Allen, Stillings, Hooper or Donlon (or even if, God forbid, Goldthorpe gets back in the race), as of right now, none of them have shown me that they have what it takes to be elected to Congress.

Excuse me reddogreport
Scope (Diary) Monday, July 12th at 9:11PM EST (link)OK, I take Moe’s warning seriously. That does not excuse you to say what you will, particularly calling the commentors the Democrat attack machine. Don’t take Moe’s warning as a promotion of your comments/arguments as being acceptable. It was a blanket statement, and, you are responsible to respect that request.
scope?
ajgop Tuesday, July 13th at 11:31AM EST (link)should we meet in the quad and settle this?
Look, I have not taken any shots at Beneshik only defended Allen on what i think are unfair accusations. For that i’m pilloried?
I want to both have good candidates and win races.
I think it is very unfair to compare Allen to scozzofava as he is much more conservative. Also,at the end of the day the darling Hoffman blew a very winnable race.
No, ajgop, you err in trying to pin NY-23's loss on....
penguin2 (Diary) Wednesday, July 14th at 11:47AM EST (link)Doug Hoffman. He did not ‘blow” a very winnable race. The NRCC and Dede managed it quite nicely on their own. Mr. Hoffman actually did quite well considering the obstacles that our own party placed in his way. Dede not getting out until the weekend before, and then throwing in for the Dem is the place that blame belongs.
Considering your comment about Hoffman, it shows us clearly your purpose in being here.

I Disagree - I Do Blame Hoffman
IJB Wednesday, July 14th at 11:52AM EST (link)You can blame the NY GOP (and the NRCC) for setting up the parameters of that race. Everybody does, and they deserve it.
But I blame Doug Hoffman for not pulling out what was still a winnable race – a better candidate would have won that Special.
After 2009, I don’t want to see Doug Hoffman or Jim Tedisco anywhere near a General election race.
IJB, if I'm not mistaken, the Dem candidate lied
janis (Diary) Wednesday, July 14th at 12:27PM EST (link)to voters about what he would do if elected. So they elected him and he did the opposite of what he promised. Can’t remember if it was the Healthcare obomination of something else, but I’m pretty sure that was it.
Shocking, ain’t it, that a Dem would lie to get elected? So don’t blame it on Hoffman’s viability as a candidate, blame in on electorate that chose to believe in a Dem’s promises.
