I notice, by the way, that he is iCaucus endorsed. I’ve got a growing body of friends who have serious issues with that group. Might have to dig into that.

Gun safety, though . . .
BlueStateSaint Sunday, May 16th at 6:50PM EST (link)At about the 45 second mark, he has his trigger finger in the trigger guard of that lever-action rifle. Not a good example to set. Sure, the hammer isn’t cocked, and he does have the finger out of the trigger guard by the 59 second mark, but it’s the one bone I have to pick with it.
OMG
ktsub (Diary) Sunday, May 16th at 7:45PM EST (link)Seriously?
Great web ad. Love it, would like some our Texas candidates with the same, oh yeah we got Rick Perry.
this is what gives us gun guys a bad name
Doc Holliday (Diary) Sunday, May 16th at 8:17PM EST (link)and why people don’t want to watch movies with those of us that just can’t get past the interminable gun clicking/cocking noises every time a firearm is shown.
In this case I think we should not be idiots and realize this is a POLITICAL AD!!!!! not training at Gunsite or the Sig Academy. Furthermore, you can pull on an uncocked lever action trigger until you break it, and it still won’t fire, the hammer is down.

SteveLA (Diary) Sunday, May 16th at 7:43PM EST (link)Excited too and raising heck, but that’s an interesting political advertisement. Not sure what pulling out the rifle has to do with being Ag commissioner in ‘Bama, Jimmy Carter’s killer rabbits have invaded the state or something?
I did like the shots of the horse when Peterson was going off on his opponents, little video enhancement with raised eyebrows on the horse would have been way cool.

The icaucus stuff I saw is rather demagogic, occasionally using misleading graphs and numbers to juice their case – although the actual numbers are bad enough. They do seem to wish a pox upon both our houses as political parties, and most of their presentations on “solutions” are mainly rehashes of the problems and blaming the “big money interests” and both parties for it.
If I had to label them, I’d saw they were anarcho-libertarian populists. Definitely not Republicans, only conservative in some respects, but neither did I see anything which could be used to embarrass a conservative candidate, especially in the South.
If they are fringe wackos, racists, or LaRouchies, they keep it well hidden.
