No, Kamala Harris Isn't As Popular As the Media Says... Yes, You Should Pretend Like She Is

As it goes in every presidential year, the polling can only best be described as "out of control." As I write this, some polls are celebrating that Democrat Kamala Harris has now tied with Trump thanks to a sudden jump in popularity, while others are pointing out that Harris is actually still trailing Trump by a good distance.

Two things can be true at the same time here. Harris did, in fact, gain a good deal of popularity once Biden announced he was dropping out of the race and Harris was taking his place. In fact, I said that very thing would happen, but that Democrats shouldn't get too excited as the newness of Harris's campaign will wear off pretty quickly, and they'll be left with...well... Kamala Harris. I said she'd experience what I call the "Disney dip," or an initial excitement and curiosity followed by a fast decline in interest as people swiftly learn the product is garbage.

As per The Hill, Harris leading Trump in Pennsylvania now:

According to a survey released Tuesday by Susquehanna Polling, Vice President Harris has a 4-point lead over former President Trump.

Harris, who entered the race just more than a week ago after President Biden suspended his campaign, earns 47 percent support among Pennsylvania voters. Trump is close behind with 43 percent.

But at the same time, polls can be very wrong and Harris doesn't have the necessary popularity among voters to overcome Trump. For all the surge in approval she has, the idea that she's suddenly garnered enough momentum to catch up to Trump's runaway campaign is unlikely. Harris isn't exactly generating a lot of groundswell. Her events, for instance, are looking a bit lackluster.

As Rasmussen pointed out, people who actually put their money on things like this aren't exactly changing their bets, either. People's faith in Trump's victory aren't exactly shaken.

Again, it's highly unlikely that Harris can beat Trump. Harris's campaign is trying to find its footing. It's pushing attacks like "J.D. Vance is weird," which is hard to do when you're surrounding yourself with fringe nonsense all the time.

But regardless, Republicans need to pretend that the Democrats are absolutely correct that Harris is catching up to Trump at a blistering rate. They need to pretend that the Democrat machine is operating with a smoothness it hasn't in previous elections, and that its organizational skills are at their peak. It needs to begin thinking that there are technological abilities being deployed that haven't been considered yet. It needs to believe that the data Democrats have collected is thorough and accurate.

In other words, Republican voters, the RNC, and anyone else who leans to the right of Marx who doesn't want the Democrats to win, need to be paranoid.

They need to believe that the DNC will stop at nothing to achieve power, because in truth, they won't. All the talk about how they cheated in the 2020 election need to be taken as gospel at this point because yeah, that's a very real threat we're facing. Republicans don't just need to take preventative measures to make sure cheating is very, very difficult to do, but they also need to make it clear that everyone needs to get out and vote so that if cheating does occur, it's so obvious that investigations need to happen immediately.

Moreover, Republicans need to understand that they're not just fighting for the White House. In order to save the country, both the House and the Senate need to be won as well and that without them, Trump's presidency is going to be a disappointing one. It's here that Republicans should know that they aren't doing that well and if they want to secure the country's future then they need to kick it into high gear in more local races as well.

The bottom line here is that even if you aren't losing these races right now, you are losing this country. You don't have to act like it's all going the way of the Dodo. You don't have to pretend like you're not one minute to midnight here. You are.

Get out and vote the moment you're able. Help if you can. Don't think this is in the bag because it's not.

Even if Harris can't beat Trump, the Democrats have plenty of other ways to defeat him and you. They don't actually need Harris to do it.

Don't just cut the head off the snake, dice all of it into little bits.
