Democrats Still Don't Understand Christianity

Well, this is tiresome.

Every once and a while a Democrat decides to lecture Christians on how to be Christian, which is like a mid-binge drug addict lecturing you on proper sobriety.

I don't know why they do it. My guess is two reasons.

Firstly, they want the Christians on the left to feel good about supporting policies that don't exactly align with Christianity. Secondly, they love the idea of finger-wagging at Christians and acting morally superior to them, which they demonstrably aren't. Abortion advocacy blows that high horse out of the water alone.

But let's for the moment, focus in on one such Democrat who loves his finger-wagging, Democrat Texas Rep. James Talarico, who decided to stand up in front of a crowd and start telling Christians what they have to believe in to be good Christians.

Talarico told a clearly friendly crowd that it's always the politicians who talk the most about God that are the least Christlike.

“You can’t call yourself a Christian and deny health care to the sick," he said. "You can’t call yourself a Christian and cut food stamps for the poor. You can’t call yourself a Christian and reject the stranger seeking asylum at our southern border.”

"You can't call yourself a Christian and destroy God's creation with greenhouse gases," he continued. "And you can't call yourself a Christian and discriminate against your neighbor because of their race, gender, or sexual orientation."

He then said that many people aren't Christians who are more Christ-like than Christians in office.

Talarico is way off base, as Democrats usually are. In fact, on some of these things, he's dead wrong.

Firstly, I don't know a single Christian denying healthcare to the sick. Democrats like to pose the healthcare question as if government-run or socialist healthcare is the only healthcare there is and that healthcare is flatly denied to people in a free market. That's a demonstrable lie. I can show you an entire list of cases in which the U.K. denied healthcare in their socialist system.

A Christian fighting against socialist healthcare in government is actually a pretty great thing to do, considering the failings of socialized medicine. Given that many socialized health programs included "gender-affirming" care for minors overseas, I think Christians have every right to resist it. This doesn't mean Christians are refusing anyone healthcare, though.

As far as refusing food stamps to the poor, this is once again an issue of resisting socialized nonsense. Food stamps are wildly abused in our system and result in quite a few people living off taxpayer dollars while doing nothing. We're made to believe that every person on food stamps is poor, destitute, and with no way out. Maybe that's the case for some, but not all.

The system is rife with fraud, costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, and is plagued by corruption as most socialized systems are. You've probably seen viral videos of people abusing their food stamps in the open such as the woman who famously gave her dog a lobster she paid for with food stamps.

The Bible is actually pretty clear about how you get your food...you work for it. And to those who can't work for it, Christians are the group taking care of them the most

As for protecting our borders, the Bible also talks about this.

Romans 13:1 states "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

Numbers 32:17 speaks on keeping women and children safe behind the borders of fortified cities (oh no, a wall) from the land's inhabitants.

The point of a border is to keep people safe from those who would do us harm. While the Bible tells us to help those who come to our borders who need help, Biden and his administration are failing to hold up any kind of border at all, allowing in whatever element desires entry, including foreign entities that wish to do us harm.

Closing off our border in order to properly sort the wheat from the terrorists isn't a bad thing, and many of the "asylum seekers" aren't seeking asylum at all. They're just looking to take advantage of the prosperity of America. It's okay to vet people trying to gain entry into the U.S. and make sure they're not dangerous criminals, as is too often the case.

Talarico and the Democrats want you to believe this is all black and white. Democrats push that the claim of asylum is good enough. It's not. A boatload of crimes and dead Americans are evidence of that.

Here's a question for Talarico.

How is it that a man who can tell Christians how to be Christian seems to believe that the Ten Commandments displayed in schools is "un-Christian" while putting pornographic material in Children's schools is okay?

Maybe he can explain that without misquoting the Bible or taking it out of context.

I doubt it, though.
