By week’s end
By week’s end, meaning in one seven days time, the President will have signed 32 Executive Orders. Yes, Trump supporters, that is a lot of mandating, decreeing and otherwise steamrolling “We the People.” It’s also nothing to tip a pint over.
Trump’s sprint to the 100-day dash line is pitiful. Fear not though, he’s got almost 14 more 100-days to reveal who really wrote “The Art of the Deal.” Our President’s got to stop circumventing the process and get crackin’ on the hard stuff like actual legislation: funding a wall, affecting health care, trade and drug reroutes, and various other weighty bumper sticker promises.
President Trump must set himself to convince a substantial margin of “other” voters aka 52% laboring poor to middle-class who, whether he or his sycophanatical (you read that right) base care to admit, he will need to MAGA himself into the next three years, two-hundred and sixty-five days.
Enacting legislation is messy; passing meaningful legislation is blue collar, back-breaking, and endurance challenging. It’s not all cameras and pens and “working lunches” and vacays to the country club. No time to tan or dye the scant wispies.
Mr. President, we know you’ve got this. You built a great empire. Not from the ground up, and certainly not from pauper to prince, but you didn’t fail. Now’s the time to put aside your childish ways and lead. Not by mandate or showmanship, but by perseverance. Health care reform is a must not an option. Border security? Not an option. Negotiate, don’t mandate and persevere to get it right.

Tuesday, 25 April
- 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm – President Trump will convene a roundtable discussion with farmers and state agriculture officials today before signing an Executive Order promoting Agriculture and Rural Prosperity in America. The EO will allow the new Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, to form a task force designed to find bureaucratic impediments within the industry. Perdue will have 180 days before handing the president his findings.
- Book Release – “Two Paths: America Divided or United” by John Kasich. Warning! For many Trump supporters and Anti-Trump activists, Kasich’s book is a bitter pill. Although the Ohio Governor, as he campaigned in 2016, prefers all references to “They” stay anonymous, he is politely rejecting any exclusion and intolerance theme. Instead, he builds on what he started, a realist’s philosophy. A note from Kasich’s publisher relayed to the Washington Post: “…he also takes on such subjects as media bias, congressional gerrymandering, the proliferation of ‘fake news’ and the ‘ramifications of living in a post-truth environment.'”

- ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corp) Day of Remembrance – When the world remembers the Great War, two South Pacific island nations are not the first of the Allied armies to pop to mind. Nevertheless, April 25, 1915, is venerated in Australia as the day a newly federated nation landed on a Turkish peninsula and bravely represented a pivot to peace and ensured national identity. New Zealanders commemorate its anniversary by honoring all NZ men and women who have fallen in war.
- Bureau of Public Affairs travel. Special envoys from the United States, Japan, and South Korea meet in Tokyo to tackle North Korea’s petulance and coordinate an effective trilateral strategy moving forward.
Wednesday, 26 April
- 3:00 pm – In a rare move, A Special Briefing on North Korea is convened for All 100 U.S. Senators. The Legislators will gather at the White House for a closed-door session where Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and General Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will provide them with current developments in North Korea. It is unclear whether the briefers will take questions.
Thursday, 27 April
- President Trump is scheduled with Argentina President Mauricio Macri in Washington. The conversation will revolve around drugs, trade, travel and fellow South Americans, Venezuela and their current economic condition.
Friday, 28 April
- 10:00 am – Secretary of State Tillerson will meet with United Nations to chair a Special Ministerial Meeting of the United Nations Security Council. The gathering was called to speak to the deepening issues with North Korea as in WMDs.
“This meeting will give the Security Council members an opportunity to discuss ways to maximize the impact of existing Security Council measures and to show their resolve to respond to further provocations with appropriate new measures,” said Mike Toner, Dept of State press release.
