As the Democrats continue to bankrupt the nation with crushing debt, and stymie Republican attempts to balance the budget, we were beginning to wonder if they had their own plan to achieve budget solvency. The New York Times just revealed their monumental plan for the future of our fiscal stability. Drum roll……Labeling Republicans and tea partiers as extremists!
“Moments before a conference call with reporters was scheduled to get underway on Tuesday morning, apparently unaware that many of the reporters were already on the line, Charles Schumer of New York, the No. 3 Democrat in the Senate, began to instruct fellow senators on how to talk to reporters about the contentious budget process.
After thanking his colleagues — Barbara Boxer of California, Ben Cardin of Maryland, Tom Carper of Delaware and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut — for doing the budget bidding for the Senate Democrats, who are facing off against the House Republicans over how spending for the rest of the fiscal year, Mr. Schumer told them to portray John Boehner of Ohio, the Speaker of the House, as painted into a box by the Tea Party, and to decry the spending cuts that he wants as extreme. “I always use the word extreme,” Mr. Schumer said, “That is what the caucus instructed me to use this week.”
Schumer feels that a coherent and well-disciplined smear campaign against the tea party will compensate for their incoherent budget plan, vapid ideology, and criminal insouciance to the plight of the American job seeker and consumer. We have known for some time that Democrats champion coordinated talking points and use them as marching orders for their minions. Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) responded to our article opposing 113 week unemployment benefits with the same archaic messaging: “Considering that there are five unemployed workers for every available job, Rep. Lee hopes that Republican leadership will reject this extremist, ultra right-wing view.”
It is a classic case of projection in which Democrats are attempting to promulgate their own image deficiencies on us. Let’s keep score of the current political dynamic and ascertain the nature of genuine extremism.
- The Democrats, for the first time in American history, malevolently abdicated their constitutional duty of formulating a budget, despite their complete control over all branches of government. During their unchecked control of congress, Democrats accumulated more debt than virtually every previous congress combined. They have turned the sum of our former annual deficits into monthly deficits! Republicans immediately took responsibility upon their assumption of power and passed a budget bill that cut a modest $61 billion in spending, just 50% of our monthly deficit. Instead of maturely supporting Republicans on this 4% deficit cut, Democrats petulantly continued their goal to force a government shutdown.
So who are the real extremists, Senator Schumer?
- Democrats are demanding an unconditional and long-term increase in our $14.2 trillion debt, even though it is rapidly approaching our GDP. Republicans are merely requesting a balanced budget or spending mandate that would ensure that this will be the last increase in the debt ceiling. A recent poll shows that the public opposes raising the debt limit under any circumstance by an unprecedented 71%-18 margin.
So Mr. Schumer, who is in the mainstream and who is in the extreme?
- As energy and food prices soar to unprecedented levels, the Democrats are employing every tool at their disposal to ensure that these basic needs become unaffordable. They have locked up much of our oil, gas, and coal reserves and are launching a full throttled assault on nuclear power. Obama has tirelessly prosecuted his war on domestic production, even in contravention to a court ruling. As the Democrats seek to destroy these efficacious energy sources, they use taxpayer dollars to promote the ineffectual energy projects of their corporate cronies. These policies have placed crushing burdens on those who are on fixed incomes and rely heavily on cheap energy and food. And yes, they seriously harm the unemployed.
So, who are the ultra extremist wingers after all?
- Democrats have purloined the taxpayers for years by using public funds to subsidize lavish benefits and pensions for their union cronies. They repay their biggest campaign financiers by granting them benefits that are not enjoyed by those footing the bill; the taxpayers. As Republican governors attempt to salvage their states by requesting that public workers pay modest and below average contributions to their fringe benefits, Democrats erupt into violence and ravage state capitals across the country.
Anybody who observed the dichotomy between the peaceful tea parties and the violent union rallies can easily determine who is in the mainstream of political activism.
While Schumer and his political consultants frantically aim for ways to demonize those who represent the forgotten taxpayers and consumers of America, they ought to engage in some introspection first. It appears that the November elections showed all of us who the true extremists are in Washington. And they are not tea party members.
