Rumors of War: Top Marine General Warns Troops to Be Prepared

Wars and rumors of wars.

General Robert Neller, commandant of the Marine Corps is telling American troops in Norway to be prepared for what is surely to come.

Neller was visiting the troops on Thursday, while the air is pretty thick with the tension existing between Russia and NATO allies.

Norway is hosting a small number of U.S. troops until the end of 2018, reportedly to enhance those European ties, as well as to train for combat in cold climates.

That’s not sitting well with neighboring Russia.

Said Neller, while giving his warning:

“I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming,” Neller told Marines stationed in Norway, during a visit there, according to Military.com. “You’re in a fight here, an informational fight, a political fight, by your presence,” he added.

The commandant pointed to Russia and the Pacific theater as the next major areas of conflict, predicting a “big-ass fight” in the future.

This is where I remind everyone again: RUSSIA IS NOT OUR FRIEND.

I don’t care what WikiLeaks says.

“Just remember why you’re here,” he said. “They’re watching. Just like you watch them, they watch you. We’ve got 300 Marines up here; we could go from 300 to 3,000 overnight. We could raise the bar.”

Neller went on to a question-and-answer session, where he suggested that the combat arena of the Middle East that seems endless to us could switch to Eastern Europe, due to Russia’s conflicts with Georgia and Ukraine.

Earlier this week, President Trump highlighted the new national security strategy focusing on the threats posed by his buddies, China and Russia.

Let’s hope we never have to test those strategies.
