It was just a sign, ya’ll!
I’ve watched with no small amount of amusement, as the tales of Donald Trump’s narrow escape from the plot of an assassin has unfolded all over social media.
You’d think Sirhan Sirhan was in that Reno crowd, last night.
In reality, it was a man by the name of Austyn Crites.
And he was holding a sign.
The man, identified as Austyn Crites, reportedly held up a sign during the rally that said “Republicans Against Trump.”
“All of a sudden, because they couldn’t grab the sign, or whatever happened, bam, I get tackled by all these people who were just, like, kicking me and grabbing me in the crotch and just, just beating the crap out of me,” Crites told KTNV, CNN reported.
“And somebody yells something about a gun, and so that’s when things really got out of hand.”
A Secret Service spokesman said someone yelled “gun” during the rally, but no weapon was found
Crotch grabbing?
So it really was a Trump rally, wasn’t it?
The end result was Crites being led from the event, with no further incidents and no charges filed.
Because there was no gun, and no threat.
Trump returned to the stage shortly after the event and the rally continued on.
“Nobody said it was going to be easy for us, but we will never be stopped. We will never be stopped,” Trump said when he came back.
“I want to thank the Secret Service. These guys are fantastic.”
It was a sign.
