With two weeks left until the day that American Christians either stand on faith or bow to fear, it’s a good time to reflect on why I have pushed this issue with such fervor.
Proverbs 29:25 (AMP) – “The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in and puts his confidence in the Lord will be exalted and safe.”
It is fear of another liberal president putting the final nail in the coffin of America that has Christians running to vote for Donald Trump.
I remember exhorting Christians to stand against Barack Obama in 2008, and again in 2012 for the same reasons I now stand against Trump and Hillary Clinton – he was not a moral man.
One of his few votes while in the Senate (those days he even bothered to show up for work and didn’t simply vote “present”) was to vote against BAIPA (Born-Alive Infant Protection Act). This bill would require that medical staff provide care to babies that were born alive, after attempted abortions.
Before BAIPA, infants born after abortion attempts were being cast aside, suffering, left to die without food, or medical aid. Only the most wicked and cold-blooded in our society would approve of such callous disregard for a suffering infant.
Barack Obama was one of those wicked, cold-blooded liberal beings, and he voted from the pit of his godless heart. No Christian should have supported him, but I know many who did, and they had no problem with labeling me a “racist” for opposing him, even as I tried to explain BAIPA and why it was wrong to support him.
It’s the same way some Christians supporting Trump now have labeled me a “Hillary supporter,” or a “malcontent” for standing against him.
I should not be having this much trouble expressing to Christians that fear of any man (or woman) should not control our vote. Nor should our hope be in manmade systems, such as the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is not the Supreme God.
Your faith, if it is truly faith in the Almighty God, will not be shaken by anything that happens in this world. That is flesh.
When we consider who is deserving of our vote, we should be considering Proverbs 8:13 (AMP):
“The [reverent] fear and worshipful awe of the Lord includes the hatred of evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way,
And the perverted mouth, I hate.”
Does that sound like anyone running for the presidency?
I’ve been pounding this message as hard as I can, and quite often, I’m met with so much resistance from the very people I thought would understand and engage in this issue.
Imagine my great relief when I found a website that stands in agreement with everything I’ve been saying. The words of the video presentation on the site are absolutely everything I’ve been trying to drive home to Christian voters for weeks.
The site is www.FaithTrumpsFear.com and it offers a helpful state-by-state guide for Christians who want to stand against the fear that is telling us we have to vote for one of two horrible, corrupt candidates.
I’m going to let you see the video for yourselves, because I am tired. I have fought and prayed and now I want to stand and let my God do what He will do.
Watch the video. Explore the site. Pass it along. Then pray for our nation.
