One wonders why they bothered. One, it’s PBS; two, Fey’s comments were in receiving one of those awards that apparently exist solely to give neurotic artists a little external self-confidence; and three, it’s not like Tina Fey wasn’t saying anything that we’ve all drearily come to expect from the American celebrity Left. To wit:
“And, you know, politics aside, the success of Sarah Palin and women like her is good for all women – except, of course –those who will end up, you know, like, paying for their own rape ‘kit ‘n’ stuff,” Fey said. “But for everybody else, it’s a win-win. Unless you’re a gay woman who wants to marry your partner of 20 years – whatever. But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. Unless you believe in evolution. You know – actually, I take it back. The whole thing’s a disaster.”
Nonetheless, PBS cut it out of the rebroadcast. They claim that they didn’t do it for political reasons; they did not also claim that they didn’t do it because starting next January the federal purse strings will be in the hands of some very annoyed politicians with a burning need to cut government spending and no sense of humor about attacks on conservative women; but that’s probably because nobody had the mother-wit to ask. Which is my way of saying that PBS’ claim was nonsense: they knew very well how people would react to slime like that, so they cut it out forthwith. Which was a mistake: up to now they didn’t own any part of Fey’s nastiness. Now they do.
As for Tina Fey: I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am getting tired of being lectured about public policy by my intellectual and academic inferiors, simply because they happen to have more symmetrical faces than mine.

They should have run Fey's comments uncut
Doc Holliday (Diary) Wednesday, November 17th at 12:29AM EST (link)I don’t think the average Joe realizes how much hate Fey has. This women is known for lampooning Sarah Palin, but she has been clear that she actually despises Palin and other conservative women. This kind of hate should not be ignored, if she wants to be known as bigot she should be known as a bigot. This might help her in some small circles, but overall, it will damage her.
Salon.com claims that PBS “protected Sarah Palin” with the edits. Damn those people are stupid! PBS protected Tina Fey.

How to counter the Lefties and the gay agenda
tankertodd (Diary) Wednesday, November 17th at 12:48AM EST (link)If you got some dope like Fey slamming conservatives for not supporting gay rights, you basically remind them that when the Democrats controlled the House, the Senate (with supermajority) and the Presidency, they did ZIP NADA ZILCH ZERO for gay rights.
They did NOTHING. It’s on them.
(Given that I firmly believe that our country has much more drastic problems at hand I totally support gay rights insomuch as we’ve lost the luxury to worry about such things. The survival of the Republic itself is an open question.)

PBS and NPR need to go.
Philip (Diary) Wednesday, November 17th at 8:12AM EST (link)Though I am having my morning redstate break I’m spending most of my activist time, while waiting for a recount in TX 27, working on Senator Kay and her earmark addiction and getting rid of NPR and Public Broadcasting. I am doing this independently and without mention of redstate.com, except for my last diary, if anyone has concerns. I know these comments are slightly off topic however I am sick of public funding of one side’s propaganda. Where’s LTV? I know I’m a minority on that one! Funding Public Broadcasting and NPR is like sending ‘free-to-them’ ammo to a mortal enemy.
Just to say it again PBS & NPR NEED TO GO.
Hey Tina.
blooch Wednesday, November 17th at 8:19AM EST (link)That’s not Sarah Palin’s “crazy voice”. That’s all yours.
It must be galling to ride the coattails of a woman whose Naughty Monkey Double Dare pumps you are not fit to shine.

ANY Republican that does not vote to defund NPR and PBS should be primaried.
Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.
Thanks for this post MOE - Fey and PBS are Obaminations - Defund PBS/NPR - yesterday
fpete13527 (Diary) Wednesday, November 17th at 10:24AM EST (link)Fey is a bitter, cowardly, slime mold.
As stated above, her TRUE complete feelings were left out but it is on record she hates any woman who does not fit her standards of radical left scum.
The fact that PBS not only acknowledges her but gives her a top award says it all.
AS stated above, IMMEDIATELY defund PBS and NPR.
Addtitionally, I fully agree that ANY Republican who does not COMPLETELY defund NPR and PBS needs to be primaried and worse.
I've never seen Fey on TV...
H (Diary) Wednesday, November 17th at 10:24AM EST (link)I honestly can’t fathom where people, especially those with kids, find time for such” entertainment.” It has the appearance of some kind of self imposed ideological slavery to be locked into the broadcast networks to the exclusion of anything remotely conservative.
Break the habit people. There are a couple hundred channels on the cable box. If you can’t fit cable into your budget, then a $59 Roku box and an internet connection will bring more information and decent entertainment to your living room than you could wish for.
